I live in Bethel Park, PA. My boyfriend placed an order Saturday 5/12/07, for flowers as a surprise for my college graduation and Mother's Day. He is not from my city. He got the number to the florist from the phone book. Bethel Park Florist (412) 833-8740. The flowers were guaranteed to arrive that day. As of yet they have not. His credit card was charged but no flowers. I called the number and got what sounded like a legitimate automated system and pressed '5' for purchases and orders placed. It rang and said the customers services reps were busy and to leave a detailed message. I did this twice, no call back as of yet. So I did some investigating. I typed the number in on yahoo's search engine and the results displayed Bethel Park Florist (412)833-8740 located at 5100 Library Road. I called again and stayed on the line to speak to a cs rep. Someone did answer and I advised them that the order was placed Saturday and my boyfriends debit card was charged and I still have not received the flowers, what is the problem? She transferred me immediately to the same extension, option '5' and again no one answered and a recording came on to leave a message. So at this point I decide to go to the address. Library Rd. otherwise known as route 88 is a well known road. Couldn't find it. So I called again. I held on the line and got someone and advised them that I am at 5100 Library and there is no Bethel Park Florist. I asked if this was a scam. She said no maam, did you order flowers? I replied no I am the receiver, my boyfriend did and I have yet to receive them. She asked for his name and the information did come up. She had my information, address and phone number as well as my boyfriend's. She said they had called us both yesterday to let us know they would be delievered today. I stayed on the line with her as I checked my home phone ID and voicemail and while I called my boyfriend to see if he had gotten a call. You guessed it, no call! She told me this is Bethel Park Florists main office number and ignored the part about there being no store at the address listed. I asked her if this was (412)833-8740 and she said no this is 1-800-258-6473. I said that's funny as I just dialed (412) 833 8740 and got you. She hung up. So I decided to call one more time to attempt to place an order. I pressed '1' to order and got someone. I said I would like to order some flowers but where do you send them from? She said we are nationwide and have many florists. I said well where would they come from if I ordered them to the Bethel Park area (I did NOT say Pennsylvania)? She said we serve the Bethel Park area and have multiple florists in that area. I asked her to name one and she said she couldn't. I told her instead of calling, I decided to go straight to the Bethel Park Florist to place the order in person and there was no such Florist. I explained how the (412) 833-8740 is registered to Bethel Park florist and the name dials to you, flowers with gifted elegance. After I explained that, she asked if I wanted to place an order! I said no I'm going to the police and you will not be servicing the Bethel Park area anymore. She replied uh huh ,yeah, sure and hung up. No let me say that it sounded like the same customer service rep each time and isant it funny that when you try to reach someone regarding an order that was placed and paid for, you get no one? You get someone when you want to place the order! So I did go to the police and the number is legit. It's in their phone book and everything and their address is Rite-Aide!!! The police are now investigating it and will be getting back to me shortly. I will keep everyone posted. Doing some research I have learned that this scam is nationwide. Just type a city followed by Florist and you'll get a local exchange that goes to a main automated system, no matter if you dial the local exchange or 1-800-258-6473, its the same automated system and company. Bethel Park Florist or AnyCityUSA Florist is the same as flowers with gifted elegance. Their poorly designed website is www.fwge.com. They place orders for weddings, funeral's, you name it and the minimum arrangement is $40. Now they have my boyfriend's debit card number and both of our addresses and phone numbers. Wow what a scam! I wonder how many people have ordered flowers for funeral's or Valentine's Day and the receipiants never received them. I bet their still waiting for a thank you and don't even know their credit cards have been charged and no flowers were even delieverd!!
