I recieved one of 21's shirts as a gift and when I went to put it on the shirt had a huge rip on the side . The material had come lose and was shredding. This was not my fault as I had never worn the shirt ( only to try it on) but the fault of the manufactors which 21 sells.

Not thinking it would be a problem I went to return the shirt and to my suprise the manager refused to take it back. I explained that I had every intention of keeping the shirt so I removed the tags. Her rudeness stunned me.

This is not a way to treat a customer. This is a never worn, brand new shirt and I understand that there are rules to follow regarding returns, but this is a completely different situation. This is a defective product. Not taking it back is like saying you do not stand behind what you sell and the customer is stuck with any defective item they walk out with.

This is a VERY POOR way to run a business. I asked for a comment card on my way out of the store from a group of associates to which I was informed that there is none (big suprise.)

The total price of the now worthless shirt was a measely $19.34, but it is the principal of the issue that demands my satisfaction. I sent corporate an email stating my complaint and they responded by asking for my phone number to which I sent them and than NEVER heard forom them. I know some of you will say "you pay for what you get". It has nothing to do with that! It's the sheer fact that I got sold a piece of crap to which they could care less! If I went in any other store it would not be a problem, where does forever21 have the right to treat us like were dogs?

There are other stores that sell the same type of clothing (charlotte russe for one) and have great customer service! I will not be giving 21 my business any longer.

I worked selling clothes for two years, and frankly, I don't know why you're so shocked you weren't able to return this. First, it was a gift, and you probably didn't have a receipt. Even if you did have a receipt, since you live in WI, there was probably some time lapse from the time it was purchased to the time you brought it back. Second, you took the tags off before you tried it on--big mistake. And third, it had a big rip in the side. You may know that you didn't do it, and I personally have no reason not to believe you, but the manager of the store doesn't know whether you did it or not, and without the tags and receipt, can't take it back.

Also, without the tags, they may not know whether it even came from their store to begin with. Had things been different, say the tags were still on it and it was returned right away, then yeah, they should take it back. But at the store I worked at, we wouldn't even take things back with the tags on and a receipt if it was obvious the person had worn it and washed it. I learned a long time ago to always, always keep the tags on until I am 100% positive I am keeping it...especially if it's a gift.

Correction: Charlotte Russe has TERRIBLE service. They are not rude, just completely ineffective. Please search them and read the report that I have filed. I do not one anyone making the mistake of shopping at this store. Buyer beware!
