Do yourself a favor and do not use this company!

They are either incompetent or dishonest or both..either case, save your self the headache and don't use them!

This is what I experienced with Fred's;

Upon sale and service of a new Heating and AC system in July of 2014, Fred's committed to take care of both the Xcel Energy Rebates as well as committing to get the Rheem Fall rebates to me, even though the work was done before the Rheem rebates were available.  To paraphrase FRED'S,   "..no problem, Fred's will get you the Rheem mfg rebates that will come in the fall for these units, we (Fred's) will take care of, even though you are getting the work done now..these rebates are large, anywhere from $800-$1000+ on theses units.. go ahead and get the work done now, we will get you those rebates in the fall...no problem!"

1) Fred's failed to turn in the Xcel Energy rebates promptly, delaying my receipt of those rebates.  It wasn't until I called Xcel directly to find out that Fred's had not turned in the paperwork, then I notified Fred's,  that this became apparent.  Fred's claimed all along that they had turned in the rebates , but in fact, had not.

2) despite constant follow-up by me and continual commitments by Fred's to provide the Rheem mfg rebates, which were published in Sept, I have yet to see any $$ come to me.  After many excuses, Fred's recently stated that they are having issues with Rheem, and are not "qualified with Rheem" so they will have to pay these promised rebates directly to me.    A date has yet to be provided for payment despite repeated attempts.  Fred's indicate that business is slow, so they don't have the extra $$ at this time. The amount Fred's is offering is substantially less than the published mfg rebates.

Again, save your self the troubles and use another company for your HVAC needs!

An unfortunate situation.  After a few phone calls, I learned that Freds was the victim of a former employee that was using Freds biz cards invoived, etc.  This employee was in the process of going out on his own and Freds was helping in this transistion.  After the owner Paul and I discussed, he promptly resolved my issues to my complete satisfaction.  Very unfortunate for Freds. As a result, I would use Freds in the future...just make sure you are dealing with Paul and not Dan and verify the person is representing Freds!
