French Riviera Spa Renewal Ripoff Hurricane Katrina Metairie, New Orleans, Kenner Louisiana

I was a member of French Riviera Spa for several years. My contract was up for renewal In September 2005, but they offered me I think an extra month or something if I renewed early. This is in mid-August and we all know what happened 2 weeks later (Katrina).

After they finally got back in business, I contacted them to cancel my renewal and refund my payment since I was forced to relocate to another state and will not be returning for at least 4-5 years, if ever.

I was told by the rude girl on the phone that they are not refunding any monies, but will suspend my membership - the one I will never get to use. So they're basically robbing people who suffered at least as much as they did from the hurricane and I just pretty much donated my money to this place. Maybe they can at least afford some air freshener now!

I filed a complaint with the Louisiana Attorney General but have not heard back as afar as a resolution yet. I just want people to know what kind of business this is so that they will know to steer clear and spend their money someplace where they'll be treated properly.
