I ordered a full sized bed frame on November 27, 2015 from Furniture Outlet World. I talked to them directly after careful research online. The bed was ordered and paid for. 8 weeks later, I had not heard from them so I called again. The bed I had ordered was unavailable and they hadn't gotten around to calling me to tell me that. I ordered another bed from the same furniture line which FOW assured me was available and they would ship that out to me as well as refund the difference in price. In March I called them again and the bed was in their warehouse and getting ready to go to the shipping company. I got a call from Alpha and Omega Shipping company that they had the bed and would ship it out in a few weeks as soon as they had a truck coming to Iowa. Several weeks later, after not hearing from them, I called and they had passed my item off to another shipping company, D and D Delivery.

After talking to D and D I was assured that it would be delivered to me soon, so I waited... and waited... and waited some more. Finally I called them and they said it would be delivered smack-dab in the middle of when I was going on a 3-day get away with my family. So we rescheduled the delivery. It was set up for May 16. The policy was stated that I was to be called to set up a time for the delivery so that I was to be home. I got no call so I called them. There was a "delay with the driver" but the truck was in my area and the bed would be delivered by the end of the week. I wasn't holding my breath. Today, 5/18/2016, 174 days after my order and payment, I got a call from D and D Delivery and they said they would be at my house in 30 minutes! I told them to be careful with the address and described my house. They showed up at the wrong house but finally delivered my bed... unassembled to my daughter's bedroom. I was excited to start putting it together, and when I did, I descovered some of the bolts and washers are missing so the bed is unusable!

From the start to the finish of this order was a disaster. Nothing went right and many parties were involved but I ultimately blame Furiture Outlet World because they were the original ones to drop the ball about the unavailablilty of my choice of bed. I don't know how they chose their shipping companies, but I wouldn't recommend them either. I am so mad and disappointed and I feel sorry for my daughter who has given up on her new room.

Padding your version of the truth perhaps?

First of all, was that a bullying tactic, using my name? Did you think I would back down if you called me out by name? Can you not read the rules of this website? No names or websites should be used... You're super-cool aren't you?

Secondly, only after I called you some 8 weeks later wondering where my bed that I ordered and paid for was, did you investigate on your own and discover that the bed was discontinued. You returned my call and offered suggestions for another bed. I had my doubts with your credibility at that time, but you assured me that I would be taken care of and this matter expedited. So I ordered another bed that would match my daughter's current set.

Thirdly, the new bed that I ordered did not cost more than my original bed... even if it was at a "big savings". If it was a more expensive piece why did you gladly refund me $126 dollars, which was the difference in the prices? Your claims of it being a more expensive bed are bogus. Also, the agreement of the second bed was done on 2/24/16 as per your records - that is a solid 3 months after the original bed was ordered! You should have contacted me within a week to tell me that bed was unavailable to you - that is what good business is - certainly not 3 months later after I called you. You had your money and I had simply slipped through a crack. If I had not called, I wonder how long it would have been for you to discover the oversight.

Fourthly, You never "explained" to me that because I was in Iowa, would this take longer. You also didn't originally explain to me that it would talk longer for the first bed. I believe you told me it would be 8-10 weeks - which is why I called you after 8 weeks to find out what was going on. Had I known that it would take nearly 6 months to get my merchandise from you, I would have simply ordered from someone here in Iowa - my only reason for dealing with you in the first place was because you told me you could get the oiginal bed - after all, it was on your website.  I knew the line was discontinued because I had done careful reasearch. I thought you had one left over. You had no idea when I called you that it was discontinued and that there were none left. You apologized for the oversite and acted outraged at the Legacy company for not informing you sooner.

Fifthly, I was not notified by you or A&O delivery or by D&D delivery for that matter that my bed was changing hands so readily. I found this out on my own, again by calling you to find out what the hold up was. You did follow up with emails telling me what I had already found out but that was after the fact. I even called A&O delivery to confirm that they had the bed because I was starting to question your ability to deliver. I was gobsmacked to find out that A&O had passsed on my bed to another delivery company, D&D. I was not ever informed of this until I called D&D myself. Seems like I had to jump through a lot of hoops by myself. But you had your money and that's all that matters, huh? Despite your "have a blessed" day talk, yes, I feel this whole ordeal was a rip-off.

Finally, What about my missing parts that rendered the bed unusable? I think in all the shuffeling around of my merchandise these things were lost. We had to go out and purchase the missing hardware because I wasn't about to call you or Legacy to wait another 174 days for some nuts and bolts to show up! And before you ask, I went through all the trash and boxes, and styrofoam, and plastic and the hardware was indeed not there. So, in fact, because I had to do this on my own, you still own me money for the replacement of the missing items. Again, another rip-off.

I don't know who is ultimately to blame for the fiaso that ensued with my bed. Whether it be your company, Furniture Outlet World, Alpha and Omega Delivery, or D&D delivery, but since you were the first person that I dealt with and the one who repeatedly apologized about the delays and miscommunications as well as the one who got my money 6 months ago, I hold you responsible, and my opinion still stands. I would not ever do business with you again nor reccommend you or your constituents to my friends.

Furniture Outlet World It took 5 1/2 months to get my order - 174 days!

Lea Ann Schuler did order a bed from us to be delivered to Iowa. The original bed she ordered was discontinued and we asked her to re select a new bed. She selected a new bed that was more expensive than the bed she ordered but we let her have it at same price. A big savings to her. In my conversation to Mrs Schuler, I explained that Iowa would take longer to delivery because it is not a normal area the delivery companies go to.

I released the New bed to ship to her on 2/24/16. We did have to move her bed to D and D delivery company in order to get it shipped because A and O was not going to be in Iowa for a long time.

We know it took much longer than expected to get the bed delivered but I do not consider this a RIP Off.

She did get her bed. A much more expensive bed. Iowa is one of those area that all the delivery companies don't go to very ofter.
