This is the worst company I have ever encountered or worked for. They lure you in with the promise of $14 an hour with Altira and the title of CPO. In order to qualify for this job, you have to either have been former law enforcement, former military, or hold a degree in Criminal Justice. With the job market the way it is these days, a full time job making a livable wage does not sound like a bad idea to a recent college grad and if you're already retired and looking for 2nd income this also sounds like a good gig.

Once you're interviewed you sign a contract stating the amount of money you'll be making and the job site. Then you go through two weeks of training, the 2nd of which is unpaid, and then you wait. No one could give me or my classmates a straight answer as to when we would actually START working. We were encouraged, however, to take jobs working at other contracted sites that paid anywhere from $9-$12 an hour "in the meantime".

Many never make it to Altria, although they were hired under such a pretense and those who DO make it are in for a work environment so toxic they money becomes secondary, unless you happen to be a "favorite" of upper management. You are constantly reminded that you can be let go or replaced, that you should not view this as just a "job" although you have no sick leave, ridiculously expensive benefits, and are told to suck up to the client at all cost. If the client says something about you, you are gone no questions asked.

What they want at this site are slaves and people desperate enough to tow the line because the company has had so many shady dealings they are afraid they will at some point lose their most lucrative contract. However, instead of these crooks looking at themselves in the mirror they would much rather put the pressure on the employees. They are asking people to take another pay cut with these same trumped up requirements.

There's also no chance of receiving unemployment with this company if anything were to happen to you. You just go back to the area office to wait on work that could be located anywhere, at any time of day or not. By offering work, even if it is not at a comparable rate, they avoid having to pay unemployment benefits.

If you're thinking about applying to this place turn the other way!
