I will preface my report by noting that GamePal routinely violates every golden rule of good business. I have to list these violations before I give my actual report, just so you know never to deal with GamePal, ever, under any circumstances. I am no "competitor", and I have no reason, outside my actual experiences with the company, to mar the reputation of GamePal.

First and foremost, their communication is non-existent, or useless- for instance, a "manager" MAY (and I emphasize MAY) respond to your email, trying to assure you that your problem is being investigated or addressed, but it is a lie, and a stall tactic. You will never hear back from GamePal again, and your problem will go unchecked. No matter how angry or urgent your email is, they will not respond or respond with as little information as possible. If you use live chat, you should know that the live chat reps are actually a contracted customer service company (not even located in the same state, and basically unaffiliated with GamePal) which doesn't have important information (such as the status of your order) on hand, and they will do as little as possible to aid you.

Next, GamePal is downright sleazy and untrustworthy. Months ago, DURING a power leveling order (not after, actually DURING the order), an unknown individual (most likely the power leveler contracted by GamePal) changed my account password and stripped all of my characters of their gear. This individual left my level 70 rogue intact, and began farming gold on the character. I had to reset my password, but the damage was already done. This has occurred with other power leveling companies, too, such as IGE, so be wary.

Lastly, and most importantly, GamePal are SCAMMERS in the WORST WAY. They get away with business practices which are flat-out illegal, and it blows my mind. GamePal deals in virtual services, and uses PayPal as their main method of payment - unfortunately, PayPal will not rule in your favor if you open a dispute over an undelivered item. Being that the item is virtual (a game account, power leveling, etc.) and "intangible", PayPal is unable to make a determination. As a result, GamePal can take your money for an order, not complete the order, and essentially get away with it, unless you are willing to hire a lawyer to bring the issue of a few hundred dollars to court. This is disgusting, and I am FED UP WITH IT.

With all of that in mind, here is my latest complaint, which compelled me to create this report. Please understand that I am no competitor; I am an angry customer who has gotten screwed by GamePal for the last time. I want everyone to know about this company before dealing with them. I always read negative reviews about GamePal (and other companies), but ignored them - please do not ignore this. Think twice before dealing with this company.

On November 1, 2007, I ordered a Made4Play account: a level 60 Orc hunter for World of Warcraft. I didn't receive any updates about the order. Weeks came and went, and my emails requesting updates went unanswered. Technical problems began cropping up, such as an odd message in the order status about the order being delivered. I asked a live chat rep about this, since nothing was delivered, and they noted that there was an overload of Made4Play orders, and the accounts department was experiencing technical problems.

The order was finally canceled, by GamePal, on December 16, 2007, nearly two months later. I received an email from GamePal, stating that their Made4Play/accounts department was overwhelmed with orders. They made mention of expanding their accounts department with more computers. My order could not be completed, so I was issued a refund, in GAMEPAL DOLLARS, including a "generous" 20% increase for my troubles. I would've preferred a real money refund. GamePal even had the nerve to say that I could've been charged a 20% restocking fee. WTF?

Not wanting to buy an existing account, I foolishly placed ANOTHER Made4Play order, on December 17, 2007. I'm not entirely sure why I did this, but I only had two options: an existing account, or a Made4Play account. I didn't want to run the risk of getting a banned account, so I went with Made4Play again. At this point, I'm beginning to wonder if GamePal has completed ANY Made4Play orders, or if they are sitting on everyone's money. This could make for a class action lawsuit...

Anyway, it's now January 20, 2008, and I have received no account, received no update on the account, and received minimal communication. My constant emails to the accounts department are ignored, and live chat cannot assist with any matter such as this. Going back to the beginning of this report, GamePal is a crooked company - they purposely make it impossible to communicate with anyone, because there is simply nothing you, the customer, can do about it. If they want to rip you off, you will be ripped off. Aside from their HQ in North Carolina, there is no real store you can physically walk into and no real managers you can complain to on the spot. This allows GamePal to run rampant, and treat you however they want.

I would like to hear what everyone thinks of my report, because I've read numerous reports similar to it, on (((Redacted))) This company is pathetic, and it honestly needs to be removed from the business arena. It is companies like GamePal which destroy honest business, and produce unhappy customers.

GamePal currently owes me $200 in REAL United States Dollars. The $40/20% bonus they gave me in Gamepal Dollars is appreciated, but I don't want it. It's no good. They might as well have given me nothing. You can only spend GPD on existing accounts and Made4Play accounts, and the latter is non-existent. I want my REAL money back, and I want it now.

... because I bought an account from them 2 hours ago through(((Redacted))). There wasn't a paypal option which I found very strange even though they have the paypal logo on their website.

So far I haven't heard anything at all from them and even though money has been transfered and I'll probably never see those 75 or so dollars again. I should have googled them before making a purchase as tons of complains from many different websites comes up, and thats from the people actually bothering making ones instead of going around pissed off for days.

So to anybody reading this, do not trust gamepal, and do not make a purchase there.

And for the person with an actually optimistic positive comment about GamePal.com I salute you! You seem to be one of the lucky few or (hopefully not) the owner of that dreaded website.

I to decided to try out GamePal's Made4Play service for a level 60 Priest. So far everything has been going fine! They have made the account on the server I want I am following the character they are building while I am playing in-game. Checked the Armory they are leveling the professions I wanted. When I have had a question or two I send an email to powerleveling@gamepal.com normally that day if not the following day I get a valid response.
