On Jan.2nd I inquired about a car for sale on their website. I was told by a salesman the car was at auction and gone. Several hours later my wife gets a call they got the car back and it is available. We negotiated a deal, which changed a few times. I purchased and left a 1000 dollar deposit over the phone. I was supposed to pickup the car 2 days later, as the dealer is many hours from my house, I called several times the day before to get statuses on the purchase, was told over and over we will call you back. Never happened. At this point they have a 1000.00 deposit and I have no info about the vehicle or financing or pickup.
Statring to worry at this point.
My wife is then told the salesman is on vacation, I then call back and he is there????? I escalate to the GM of the dealership and tell him I want him to handle the transaction . I start to explain the transaction and he points out the mistakes made by the salesperson as well as the fact that they do not have the vehicle it is in Boston, and broken. As we proceed he tells me the car's title is wrong, the vehicle mileage listed is wrong, and their is no warranty on the car it is sold as is. Well I respond you don't have the car and it is broken, so does any of that matter? He stated he would get the car back on a Monday and notify me by 12pm what the problem was. Noon came and went, no calls, After 4 more calls I am told they don't have the car and would refund my deposit.
Now it gets fun.
Instead of refunding my initial deposit, they proceed to make 2 more charges for 2000 and 1000 dollars respectively. So Now, I can barely get anyone on the phone and instead of refunding my 1000 initial deposit they have 4000 dollars pending from my account. They quickly try and refund the money, but it is too late and the transactions are posted with my bank. Now I am broke and my outstanding checks may bounce. As i awake the next day I already have one bank charge for 35 dollars against me. I am sure many will follow.
As I call the dealer I get I'm sorry and I will fix it. How do you make the error in the first place??
Refund vs purchase????
Maybe somebody needs training on the creditcard machine.
As of this writing I still have not been credited back any money regardless of what receipts they send me . I am working with my bank on this and will go higher all the way to the BBB if need be.
Why should I as the customer be penalized for their incompetence on a deal they should never had made?????

Refund Was Made Promptly
AUTHOR: Dan Rondeau - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, January 31, 2013
The customer had contacted us by phone on a 1995 Chevy Corvette because he was several hours away. The vehicle that had been on our lot for 2 months at which point we send them to the auction
to keep our inventory fresh. We told the consumer the vehicle had been sent to the auction. We explained and provided a vehicle history report on the vehicle. If he was interested in the vehicle to leave a deposit. At which point we would get the vehicle picked up from the auction. When arriving at the auction the vehicle was having mechanical issues and would not start. Yes, it did take us to much time to update the consumer on to the status. The consumer has been refunded deposit in full. Yes, there was operator error when refunding deposit instead of crediting the credit card it was
debited. The card was refunded back right away but take 72 hours to show on credit card statement. We refunded any bank fees as well.
