General Automatic Transmission, Transmission Services that are less than adequate, lies, non professional, no customer based buisness. Took my money for working on my transmission, the transmission was slipping once they so called fixed it. other Transmission shops all agreed that the transmission would last less than a year. The transmission was not fixed correctly. Corpuscorpus Christi Texas

Well one evening me and my son were driving back from San Antonio Texas. The Transmission went out on the car which was not a good situation. I had it towed into Corpus Christi. The next day I started my search for a transmission shop. I came accross General Transmission, they were eager to go pick up the vehicle from pep boys.

After extensive questions we had agreed upon a deal. They would pick up my car and check it out. After finding the issue they would call me. They didn't call, a matter of fact I had to call them.

The transmission was totally out and needed to be replaced they said. They would rebuild it with new parts and service total cost would be 1800.00. They would start the job once I came up with $600.00 and I could have the car back when I paid $1300.00. I paid the $1300.00 they told me that the car would be ready for me to pick it up on April 20th. Well the car had not been started by this time.

They told me that they did not start it because others had come in and paid cash so they were ahead of me. I had made a deal with them, they said now I was rushing them and said the car would be done by 25the the job would be free.

They guaranteed the job would be finished. Well it wasn't they asked me to give them more time and be patient. At this time I had to have my vehicle because of work and standard living reasons.

They laughed when I said that the job was free sence it was not done on the 25th. I found this appauling that they would not stick to their word.

They did get me a rental car for two days while they finished the vehicle. I went to pick the car up and it was jumping in gear and was hard shifting. The staff at general transmission said this was normal. I did not think so. They held on to the car after an argument. See the staff said the hard shift was normal.

They called me later the next morning to come get the car. I went in again to pick it up and it was still hard shifting and not running well. They kept the car until later that evening and I picked it up. It seemed to be running fine as much as I could tell. I drove it for one week and noticed the car was not running or shifting well.

I took it back to General Transmission on May 4th after taking it to two other transmission shops for a test drive and look over. They did not crack the case because General said this would void the warrenty. They said that the transmission was hard shifting and was not normal. They also found a piece of small rubber on the dip stick and said this could possibly be a cracked or pintched seal.

General Transmission owner laughed when he saw the rubber piece that I took back to him. General Transmission young owner Me Perales Jr, said that I picked it up and I said it was running well. That day it seemed to be running well. Although this argument seemed stupid because I had a year warrenty and several transmission shops who would back me up. The transmission was not fixed correctly.

I asked General Transmission to test drive it before I took it over to the other transmission shops to see if they would come clean about the issues the transmissionw as having. They didn't.

When I came back from the other transmission shops with the information I recieved from them. General Transmission staff was rude, not willing to work with me without and argument. Very argumentative, and asked me to leave it with them for a while. Matter of fact, General Transmission still did not act as if there were a problem at all with the transmission. There is more to this story and I have witnesses. General has a very bad professional side, they do not like to be questioned.

General Transmission

The morning of Friday May 4th, General Transmission amazed me. One of the owners showed up to my door to pick up my car and take it to the shop so he could have it fixed. The other owner is working with me to bring it in on tuesday so they can start working on it right away.

I have agreed to this. We have talked about the job taking approximatly three days to fix maybe a week. I can live with this, as long as they are going to fix it. They seem to want some resoulution that makes sence and are moving forward so that the car can be fixed as-soon-as possible.

Maybe they are not a rip off after all. I will keep in touch and resubmit when the job is complete. Stay tuned on weather General is a rip off or not.
