The problem I had with GE is something I see other company's doing and it needs to be stopped and I will explain. What I experienced happened  back in 2007 but I'll gladly bet a dounut the practice still goes on. I bought a General Electric over the range Microwave/Exhaust Hood that I have a hunch is manufactured by the same company who manufactures Kenmore or any major corporate name. My product had General Electrics name on it and I say if this problem is with a subcontractor GE needs to deal with it. The problem I had is with a 110volt dual squrrel cage blower for the units exhaust capabilities. Wonderful 110volt dual shaft electric motor, it's what is connected to the motor shafts that is obviously planned obsolescence plastic squirrel cages, exhausting anything above a cooktop which is hot so it's my guess the plastic is the weakest part of that whole blower motor assembly. I also know this to be true because I partially broke one of the plastic squirrel cages while installing the unit. The blower motor assembly has a korean company name on it and I figured that plastic squirrel cage can't be more than $10.00 and I know d**n right well they have bins of the left side or the right side filled with these squirrel cages. I had to purchase the whole exhaust motor assembly. I'm left  with a brand new exhaust assembly I have no use for unless it's mounted inside this kitchen appliance and eventually made it's way to a landfill near you, all for someone to make more money. The resources this planet has are finite and we already have a problem with what to do with our garbage. I immediately sent a letter to the then CEO of General Electric Jack Welch asking him if he replaces his automobile when it needs spark plugs. I received a letter back from an assistant stating the unit should still be under warranty. This is the mindset of people who are more concerned with the bottom line than they are concerned with their destruction of the earth. I'm sick of people fighting over who created this earth when our focus needs to be on who is destroying it, and charging us to do it.
