General Revenue Corp - GRC Harrassing phone calls demanding personal information Cincinnati, Ohio

On Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, I received a voice mail message on my office telephone. In the message I was requested to return a call to 866-292-5084. The caller did not identify himself, but in the voice mail message he called me by a nickname that only close friends use. I returned the call and was transferred first to a female employee.

She demanded my date of birth and last 4 numerals of my social security number. When I refused to give this information until she had identified herself, she became abusive and threatened me with continued phone calls until she received the information she was demanding. She would not identify GRC's location, purpose, or business function.

I then spoke with a male supervisor, who then asked me if I was a resident of Florida and if I was born in 1980. The answer to both questions was no, and the supervisor admitted that GRC had called the wrong person. However, he said there was no record of GRC having called my number and berated me for not giving my personal information to the initial contact person.

Neither GRC employee would give me any indication that the phone calls to me would stop; in fact, they did not even acknowledge that GRC had called me in the first place. I received no apology for wasting my time or being spoken to so rudely.
