General Savings Credit Card Scams Bellevue Washington

I was about to change my phone number because an 866# calling me for over a week straigt. The first couple days I answered, they hung up. Finally after a week of them calling daily I answered and finally a girl tells me i've been preapproved for a $2000 line of credit for a one time fee of $299. They set my check by phone to be processed on 2/16/05 but I dont get paid until 2/19 and I lost the # to call for an extension. So I do a search on the web and what do ya know, here I am reading about this scam we've given into. As soon as I read the posts before mine, I called my bank and instead of them charging $25 for a stop payment on my check they voided all future transactions for lost stolen and gave me a new acct #. Sure am glad I read this thread before I was victimized, I know how hard and frustrating it can be to deal with these scams.
