While on vacation in Las Vegas in 2011, my husband and I were approached/lured into a presentation for this company. We agreed to watch a short presentation (in which they led us through a side door, not even thinking that picketers were at the front enterance, which we later discovered was the case) in exchange for a free dinner and gift card.

After the presentation, a salesperson herds you over to a table to further their sales pitch and the urgency to sign on this "GREAT OFFER" only available on that day, and never again. Well, as appealing as it sounded, my husband and I fell for it.

The agreement was 5,000 credits per year (for a maximum of 10,000 credits if you let them rollover for 2 years), which sounded reasonable for entry level resorts. And what sold our interest was the fact that this company is linked with RCI Exchange, which services all over the world...great, right?!?

Well, I just called to make a reservation (in an effort to avoid just letting our credits expire) through RCI Exchange and unbeknownst to us, as we were NEVER informed of this, RCI was going to charge us a $209 fee for booking through them. So, here we were, going to have to pay $200 for an extra 4,000 credits (since you can't touch a par/mediocre resort for 10,000 credits), in addition to the $209, making the total cost $409! Yeah, don't think so!! This company is an absolute SCAM and LIARS!!!

We've been paying on a vacation club or timeshare, whatever you want to call it, and it's absolutely useless! Instead of doing business further, I am taking legal action and contacting my lawyer so JUSTICE WILL BE SERVED!!!

STOP paying!!!

I experienced the same run-around from Starpoint/Geo-Holiday....Robert Lomassaro, Cheryl Wright, Ms. Anderson etc........by NEVADA Law(check with Carol Washington Nev. Atty. Gen. office) consumer/buyer has 5(five) days till midnight of day of signing to CANCEL the contract. THEY DO NOT tell you this! in fact Cheryl Wright, sales manager that explains all the forms you need to sign or initial, slid the cancelation form into the packet with the brochures magazine of the worldwide resorts that they operate with. after trying for several months to have contract canceled it was to no avail....the customer service people, ANYONE that you talk to would not hear ANY of it from me. as far as they were concerned it was to bad so sad, the reply was "you had 5(five) days to look over the paperwork and you didnt cancel in time."

Long story short.....after contacting every financial institution involved with star-point. even sending a USPS registered letter to its headquarters in Toronto, Canada. Still to no avail, I closed my checking account and refused to pay anymore than my ridiculous downpayment amount which was done on my credit card at time of signing. of course I recieved phone calls and letters stating that I was delinquent on my payments etc. but whenever anyone called I explained what mty intent were and if they felt it neccessary to take me to court then so be it! I have several months of correspondence explaning my intentions, before the application process was even completed and still they said it was to late....Cheryl Wright said "they are bound by Nevada Law" which is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!!

hope this helps some

I am a new buyer as of January 2013. The "deal" was too good to pass up. for 5,000 credits and now Im starting to see why for the last 3 mos I have been trying to 'find' availability at any hotel.  In there pitch they show you all the endless amounts of timeshares and places you can go to. Well what they forgot to tell you was, the have a very limited amount of timeshares in Not so popular cities. Just to find a place in California, Texas, Florida was ridiculous as they had no inventory to offer. If your in the market for a timeshare go to a reputable one like Hilton Grand Vacations or even Marriott. At least they have hotels everywhere in major cities! Regretting this 'deal'
