This is yet another story of a small business owner that was almost scammed by George S. May International Company:

'Almost Bought It'

Author: PLASTICSRUS

My father has been in business for 50 years and we have struggled quite a bit over the last 3. Since the barrage of Chinese imports and impact of 9/11 our business has been in flux trying to come back. In the last 4 months we have been seeing a nice pick up in our business
and are generally encouraged by our prospects. As with all businesses we have cash flow issues, productivity issues, quality issues, debt, losses etc. We have been struggling to keep the business alive.

My father is 75 years old and his two sons run the business. I, specifically, am the captain and fireman. My brother has not really had his head in the company for some time but has great talent. Running this business has been difficult over the last few years and
relief would be welcome.

Hello George S. May!!

Last year I very nearly hired the services of the IPA but was steered clear by my father. I was desperate for help then. Thank you Dad for your restraint.

This past Teusday I had an unexpected guest from George S. May Consultants. Never heard of them before but upon introduction saw IPA written all over it. However this gentleman was an aquaintance in whom I had every reason to place my trust. And so I did.

On Thusday my adviser arrived prompt and primped to please. He was swave, fast talking and impressive. Everything I have read about their tactics were used on us and nearly worked. By Friday morning, when my partner came to work at 7:30 for the first time in 5 years
ready to conquere the world, we were ready to sign on to aleviate our ailing father of this huge financial burden which he had only kept going for the sake of his sons. Salvation was here in the form of GSM and without them we would be clodsed in a matter of months.

I signed the papers, for an estimate of $30,000 plus. At this point my head was beginning to spin, as I was about to do a great thing for my Dad but knew there was rat in my house, somewhere. My partner was excited about his job for the first time in years. How could I refuse? I was truly in a haze from all the activity in the factory
and with this con artist tearing down my credibility as the company leader.

When he left at 9am and his psychological pressure had left I knew it was a scam. He had mentioned my cash balance in the checkbook, which no one offered him. He took a peak. All the small, personal things he
said started to repeat in my head. His divorce, his money grubbing x- wife, his young female acquaintances, his ability to run any company, his promise of future contacts, his buddy in Texas who is a venture
capitalist, the closing meeting with the employees to give the sense of expectation that this was definitely going to happen. It was all wrong, but a member of my parish was here the other day recommending this company.

I got on the phone with Dave Barry and cancelled my appointment. My brother was quite upset with me but since we have had time to digest the situation we are of the same opinion on this company.

My advisor returned twice that day in efforts to get me to give in. No pressure, he said. I was creating it myself he said. Do you want to go out of business or do you want to hire GSM? If I did not accept the service now, they would not do business with me in the future.
That was the final indicator that this was a sham. He tore two of the 'working agreements' I had signed but slickly kept the third. He thought I might have seen some bad publicity on the ripoff report. I have since. Thanks Mr. Advisor!

If they show up at my door on Monday I will have a great time with it knowing what I know now.

I did pay the service fee. In fact it was worth it. My partner now realizes the importance of his participation in the company to make it succeed. Without having to spend $30,000 we are now set to implement a plan to raise productivity, increase employee moral, and
retire our father. Still a lot of work but not with an empty check book. The $30,000 by the way was near the exact amount we have as a financial cushion before insolvency.

The worst part of this ordeal is informing my neighbor of his employer's illicit nature.
