getmyhomesvalue Ripoff, High Pressure Sales Pitch, Unyielding Contract Lancaster Pennsylvania

I am writing this report so that other Real Estate Agents, don't fall for the same trap and to hopefully reduce the number of sales that this company makes in an underhanded way.

I succumed to a high-pressure sale, in which the representative on the phone promised that I would receive a certain number of exclusive leads per month per zip code that I signed up for. She also informed me that the leads would be verified and that appointments would be set up for me. It sounded like a win-win situation considering, that it seemed that I was going to be able to meet with people and at least get the opportunity to offer my services. Folks these leads were not cheap! I paid around $1500 total.

Once I got to the web page that they directed me to. It seemed to respresent what was told to me on the phone. On second thought, I wish I had gone through it with a fine tooth comb. At the bottom of all of that information it said to click to activate account. (Don't do it) Once in their system, I had a feeling like this wasn't going to be what I was looking for in a referral service. Basically people are not really looking for a Real Estate Agent, in most cases they just want their homes value, they are not motivated sellers.

Getmyhomesvalue.com said that I would receive a call that Saturday, but I didn't receive a call at the time agreed upon and they really don't answer the phone on the weekend at all, which ofcourse for a Realtor is peak time.

I immediately requested a refund which they said that I could not get, because of the contract and in fact because of the contract I would have to pay them additional money to get out it. Even though I had not received any services thus far. So I had no choice but to go along with their services. Ofcourse at that point I was not happy at all about doing business with them because I felt I was forced.

The bottom line is that they did not bother to verify more than about two leads. When they did, I ofcourse had to make my own appointment, at which time I was informed by the owner of the property that he already had a realtor. They never really verified leads accept for on the first day and never set any appointments for me accept for one, the first day. I guess that was to gain my confidence. In the end I didn't even get all the leads in the zip codes that I signed up for and ofcourse they pointed to their contract once again. I never actually signed anything, however I gave a verbal OK over the phone.

I would advise that people try to never buy anything over the phone. The reason being, people are not held to the same contract standards as someone who you actually meet face to face, in terms of you being able to cancel. Oh ok, the only positive note, is that after I made an annoyance of myself, they decided to let me out of the contract one month earlier. The honorable thing would have been to let me out in the beginning and refund my money.

If you are a Realtor and are thinking about it, do yourself a favor, save your money, look into other companies!! In my opinion, this is a big rip off!
