Gettel Automotive Family Of Dealerships They told us that our vehicle was financed 3 times then changed there mind and said they are going to report the car stolen if not returned. We have had it since Nov.17th. We have registration, insurance, and money invested in the car. We left messages for finance manager and sales person about our coupon book so we know who to send payment to. Bradenton Florida

We were "just looking" at cars when we stopped at Gettel where Jackie Olson greeted us. We took 2 SUV's on a test drive before deciding on "the one" that we love. We sat down with Jackie and she ran my fiance's credit and checked his employment. She asked how much we could put down at first and then Sean in finance said he could get us financed with no money down. Sean had my fiance sign all the paperwork including extra coverage(gap insurance included).

Jackie and Sean both shook our hands and congratulated us on the purchase of our new vehicle. They did not say anything about "SPOT" financing. Noone seems to know much about this except car lots in Bradenton. I am from the panhandle of Florida and they don't let you drive off the lot unless you are financed. They have lots that do "on the spot financing" which again you are financed when you leave the lot. Anyways, they call us back a month later saying we are not financed and we need to come back in.

This time we give them a $500 down payment and they say we are financed. Sean and Jackie shake our hands, congratulate us and we drive it off the lot again. We called numerous times, left dozens of messages for Jackie and Sean because we never recieved our payment book so we would know who to send pymt too. They avoid our calls until finally we get a call from head of finance - Matt saying, "We need you to come back in to try to get you financed" Matt seemed determined and made it work, but now a week into February, we have been calling again no one wants to call us back until Matt finally calls and says they want the car back because the bank called my fiance to do a phone interview and he was upset and not as cordial as the woman would have liked, so according to the car lot he failed the "phone interview with bank that supposedly already financed the car."

We were told the 3rd time that there was no conditions that was it and now Matt wants to report the car stolen if we don't return it in 24 hours(something doesn't sound right, does it?). We have been trying to make payments and they won't accept them. Now they just want the car back that we have become very attached to in preparing my fiance' for the kids that he never intended on having (ready made family). We are both employed and have no problem making the payments.

My fiance' is really upset and doesn't want to lose the car we picked out together and went through hell to get. They really screwed us. We just want the car and will make our payments on time when given the chance to do so, but they have not even done that. What should we do just send payment to the lot made out to Gettel? We have registration and insurance how is it stolen we were congratulated and told that there were no conditions the 3rd time the bank had already oked it. They did nothing but lie to us time after time. They avoided our phone calls until they needed something from us. They say the best advertising is word of mouth-I would definitely advise against dealing with these people.
