My 17 year old son ordered a XXX video from GGW (Girls Gone Wild) We returned it and they are refusing to reimburse the money.

They have already charged him 4 times ($24.95 each time) causing his account to be overdrawn. When I called them they were very smug about his age and said when he ordered the video he joined 2 video clubs. They admitted he was not aware he joined the clubs. (This must be what they do automatically to everyone who calls to order)

Believe me, I did take care of my son and I am sure this will not happen again. I also closed his bank account (even though it was his money from a part time job) but he has had to pay the bank $135 in overdraft fees. (This is one time Im wish the bank had not gone ahead and paid for the charge from the merchant) I closed his account because of other posts I read from other customers of GGW who have had the same kind of problems. (Billing over, and over, and over again)

What recourse do I have? I thought about contacting the Better Business Bureau and notifying Tipper Gore. Is there anything else I can do?

I got their customer service number from the bank so if any of you are having trouble reaching them their number is:

310-566-1063

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do by posting your comments below. Thank You.

I have previously left rebuttals and this whole topic is getting rediculous.

The first posting. I know by law 18 yrs of age your legal in the country. But who has authorization of the credit card. If the credit card companies won't take action then theres something wrong here.

I want to know who ever reads this does MRA have a legal right in their commercial in the state of Calif. to say preview each time, cancel any time or should they have the operators at the time the purchase is made.

An opinion and suggestion............

I don't think an individual that hasn't reached the age of majority (less than 18 years old) can legally execute any kind of transaction; buying, selling, legal issues, etc.

It would be my belief that your son's initial order would be invalid for that reason. I'm sure the issue troubling you will be very difficult to sort out, but I don't think "GGW" had the authority to initiate the sale in the first place.

This might be an angle you can pursue.
