I am so glad I found this site! My husband and I signed on with Gibson Trust back in 7/01. We were far in debt with no way out, and Gibson Trust made it sound so easy to find our way back to good credit status. They STOLE our initial payment of 494.00, then increased our monthly payments to 658.00 claiming our creditors wanted more of our money. They paid late, if at all, and we ended up with more phone calls, late fees, overlimit fees and such!
I terminated our contract with them in Feb 2002, and am sad I waited so long! I can't believe I let myself get swindled by the fast talkers at Gibson Trust, and am only grateful I found this site in time to file my proof of claim form for the lawsuit.
Please - if anyone you know is going to get involved with a debt-management/consolidation/reduction company, THOROUGHLY research them, don't go with someone out of state, and make sure you know exactly what you are getting into before signing anything!
We're out quite a bit of money due to Gibson Trust, and worse than that - our credit rating is HORRIBLE!!! Now we're having trouble just getting approved for anything at all! Much less having to pay all of the late fees that Gibson Trust caused us.
I am sooooo ticked off!
Don't stop fighting the good fight out there against scum like Gibson Trust, CFCCS (their new name in Deerfield, FL), and all of the copycats out there. Hopefully we can at least get some of our hard-earned money back from this lawsuit!

I too have been taken by Gibson Trust/Goldstar Financial. I have visited a lawyer in order to fill out my "bankruptcy" papers correctly. After explaining what Gibson Trust did (reporting to me that they were MAKING payments while they were NOT), he would like to draft a letter to the FL Atty General and the DA of Broward County, which is where Pampano Beach is. After I get this letter, I am going to post it on here. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, all of you are encouraged to copy and paste the letter, changing only your address and send the same letter to the same attorneys. I want these people stopped, like I know all of the other victims do. They deserve to go to jail. Let's make them pay.
