I received an email indicating that a specific known local company was hiring immediately in my area. I clicked on the link and a pop up appeared wanting to know if I was interested in pursuing an associate degree via a relatively unknown online program. I selected "no" because I already have associate and bachelor's degrees from The Ohio State University. At this point I was required to register, so I did.

I received another email instructing me to click on  alink to verify my email address. Upon doing so, I was again bombarded with questions about furthering my education and I answered truthfully, that I was not. I didn't think too much about it at this point because I figured these online schools were probably paid adertizers.

Shortly thereafter I received a phone call from a Gigat agent who said his name was Will. He told me that he was an employment counselor and that he guaranteed to find me a job within two weeks. He was very polite. He went on to ask me for my personal information, including work goals, work experience, educational background, etc. He did ask for my address, email address, phone number, date of birth, etc. but did not ask for my social security, which I would not have given if he had. He gave me is email address (will@gigats.com) and told me that he was sending me an email with a username and password so that I could continue with the job application. He then transferred me to an educational counselor named Joan.

Joan was also very nice. I told her that I already hold AA and BA degrees and would like to someday pursue an MA degree, but only at The Ohio State University and after I had a better paying job. She advised me that some of the schools she works with have financial aid and I was very firm in letting her know that I was not interested in any other colleges or universities.

After I was through speaking with Joan I checked my email. Will never sent me a username or password. I sent him an email inquiring about it. He never answered me.
