Like the previous people who were interviewed by this company, I received a phone call too to come in for an interview. The bizarre part was that it was a very short screening interview which lasted 3 minutes, while I sat in the reception area close to about an hour listening to music. Mike Kriss, the owner, told me that he will call the most qualified interviewees for a second interview.

So I received the call for the second interview, but then when I came in, I was brought to his office in the back room and will be partnered up with an experienced rep. Mike told me, after signing a contract that I won't get paid until I get selected for the position. I thought I was going to be interviewed in another office in their facility. Turns out that the gal he partnered me up with was the interviewer. Why the hell does a job interview have to be on-the-road? It just doesn't add up.

To add insult to injury, she asked some totally off-the-wall questions that were completely unrelated to what we were doing. The same day, I traveled to Downtown Chicago to some family-owned business. I was to direct people toward my booth and build awareness for a cause by selling a coupon book or cosmetics. What really happened next was unbelievable.

The partner I worked with told me to observe what she's doing. I followed what she did, but then she told me I'm just observing for now. I can't tell the difference if she wants me to do what she's doing (hello you learn by doing, not by keeping quiet). Of course I also took lunch and restroom breaks (required by law, of course) but the gal I worked with didn't. Turns out direct marketing isn't my thing.

At the end of the day, we packed up and picked up the other guy who was on his own at a Walgreens. On the drive back, the gal told me I wasn't fit for this position and to reapply again. Yeah right! After what they pulled, I don't think so. I do not recommend working for this company. Turn your heels and run for it!

AUTHOR: Kreyn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, October 16, 2008

I had the very same experience in 2006, only they took me to Aurora and the girl who was supposed to be training me sat there and criticized me for not bringing a pen. When I realized we were nothing more than door to door salesman, I told her I was not interested in this position and asked her to take me back to my car at the office so I can go home. The girl then said she was mid shift and refused to take me. Furthermore, she had me lock my cell phone in the car (which was a mile away by that point), so I had no means of contacting someone to come and get me. The day only got worse as it went on, I was following her into private property, hard hat areas of factories, bugging workers to buy a pair of binoculars and by the end of the day, my feet were covered in blisters from all of the walking. After all, I thought I was on an interview so I had nice shoes and a suit on. Of course, those were ruined by the end of the day. If door to door sales is for you, this is the company for you. Just beware that everything they tell you is very misleading.
