We recently made a small (relative to industry standards) $2,000 order for cbd hemp oil via wire transfer, which is not uncommon in the cannabis industry, only to wait 2 weeks without even receiving as much as a receipt for the purchase. Our 'sales rep' did confirm the receipt of the payment, however could not verify an ETA for shipment and is now dodging calls.

After dilligent research we were able to uncover a broad scheme of fraudulent activity from the company 'owner' John Michael Merritt, Jr through online research and multiple conversations with other individuals who have either had legal run ins with this company/individual, and/or have been also defrauded by them.

This report is made as a warning to anyone who is thinking of doing business with Global Cannabinoids, Entourage Nutritoinal Distrobution, Full Spectrum Nutritional, and/or John Michael Merritt, Jr. You will not get the product you order and you will not receive your money back. It is an intentional fraud scheme orchestrated by a meticulous con artist.

The details and lengths they've gone to in order to present the facade of a legitimate company are impressive. But do not buy in. Do not send money. We have reported them to the FBI and the 'owners' are currently known to be on the run, either in Colombia or Costa Rica. If you have any information on the wherabouts of John Michael Merritt, Jr or Ryan Lewis of Colorado Springs, CO, please post a reply and contact the proper authorities so we can find justice for those who have fallen victim to their scheme.

I am the Party to whom certain statements in this report are attributed. I did not intend for any statements made about Global Cannabinoids, Ryan Lewis or John Merritt to be made public. The statements attributed to me were in the context of litigation that was ultimately settled and involved a trademark dispute that had no relation to fraud, or whether Ryan Lewis, John Merritt, or Global Cannabinoids delivered products as purchased. I have no personal knowledge of whether Global Cannabinoids meets the needs of its clients or not.

Response to Statement by Legal Counsel

AUTHOR: D - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, October 18, 2018

Hello, At the time of the original posting, there was zero communication from the providers (Global Cannabinoids) and a list of other customers of theirs that stated they'd gone up to two months without communication or receipt of product ordered. We received communication from someone knowledgable of the owners of the company which seemed to also corroborate the notion that we were being scammed. It wasn't until we posted reviews and this report that we received any contact or offer of refund from Global Cannabinoids. And even then we received aggressive messages from their owner, which all communication has been documented to prove this.

We are not a competitor, so that arguement is invalid. We were a wholesale customer and only through these efforts were we able to receive any communcation and by these means garnered the attention of the company and were able to receive a refund.

This website, RipOff report, does not allow for removal of any items posted, otherwise I would have removed the original post to reflect what was made known. I did post an update which is 100% factual and can be backed up with supporting documentation.

If people want to do bad business and lead customers on without providing the products that they ordered, and they don't answer their phones, and the leave customers to believe they are being scammed, then they are going to eventually get reviews online complaining of this behavior. Once the situation was remedied and more was communicated we did immediately update the original statement here to reflect the proper facts.

We are now being intimidated by the company and their counsel through the threat of legal action based on our original statement when we were the customers who had to complain in the first place to get our money back. Do with that info what you will. We aren't intimidated because we spoke up when we had no other recourse to recover our funds. Once it got the attention of the company we took all measures to remedy our statements to reflect facts as they came to light.

POSTED: Thursday, October 18, 2018

This post is made by Fortis Law Partners LLC, in Denver, Colorado, which has been retained as legal counsel to Global Cannabinoids, GCX, LLC f/k/a Entourage Nutritional Distribution, LLC, Ryan Lewis, and John Merritt to address the false and defamatory statements made by the anonymous poster of this Ripoff Report identified only as “D” from Sacramento. Fortis Law Partners continues to investigate the source of these false and defamatory statements and intends to pursue all available recourse on behalf of its clients.

While this poster chose to be anonymous, based on the review, we have been able to determine the identity of the poster.  The one thing that the poster says that is true—really the only thing in the post that is true—is that the poster received an immediate refund in full when the issue became known to management.

Other than that, this Ripoff Report is riddled with false statements.  For example, neither Mr. Lewis nor Mr. Merritt are “on the run.”  Neither has any issues with law enforcement.  They are upstanding citizens in their community and within the CBD Industry.  The lawsuit referenced in the Rip Off Report is a trademark dispute and has nothing to do with fraud or any claim that any of Global Cannabinoids’ customers have failed to receive orders or otherwise had issues.

Global Cannabinoids has thousands of satisfied customers.  While the internet has been a boon for businesses, it also has given every person a voice that some choose to use vindictively.  Successful businesses of all sizes – from Apple to your favorite coffee shop - will, at one time or another, inevitably encounter a customer who is not fully satisfied, for whatever reason. Fortunately, unsatisfied customers for Global Cannabinoids are few and far between. And, Global Cannabinoids continues to strive to promptly remedy any issues to achieve customer satisfaction.  Even though the customer who filed this Ripoff Report received a full refund as soon as management became aware of his concerns, he still elected to make false and defamatory statements about our clients. As a result, we intend to pursue litigation related to the false and defamatory statements made in this Ripoff Report.

As more competitors and dishonest players move into the hemp CBD oil sector, Global Cannabinoids will utilize Fortis Law Partners to vigorously defend its stellar reputation against any false and defamatory statements posted online about its business or its customers intended to damage the company's reputation in order to gain an unfair business advantage. Global Cannabinoids is committed to protecting the well-respected name it has established within the global hemp CBD industry.

Please contact Fortis Law Partners directly should you have questions or concerns relating to the statements made in this Ripoff Report, or other concerns pertaining to Global Cannabinoids.

Update to Original Report from Original Poster

AUTHOR: D - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 04, 2018

Hello, I am the original poster of this review. I would like to include a few updates to this transaction to reflect events that have occurred since the writing of this report:

Within a few hours of writing this report, which I also copied/pasted to their Google reviews, we (my partner and I) received contact from Mr. Ryan Lewis regarding the transaction. That same day he issued a full refund to our account making us whole in a direct monetary sense. Damages of lost time from the two weeks of no contact and unfulfilled order are apart from this, but are assumed to be not worth the time pursuing.

During the initial conversations we came to an agreement with Mr. Lewis on a resolution for the matter which was as follows:

1. We would receive an immediate full refund of the monies paid to him for the order in question. This was indeed fulfilled in a timely manner.

2. We were promised to receive an order of the same volume and value at no cost to us in order to demonstrate that they were a legitmate company attempting to restore lost faith.

This second element has yet to be fulfilled and is assumed to be only a talking point/negotiating tactic as the expectation in the agreement from our end was that we would remove the owner's names from public comment and increase review ratings from one star up to a rating that we deemed appropriate, which we did remove from the Google listings upon receipt of our refund.

Through unconcious action, we failed to remove these details or update this report here on Ripoff Report.

----

This morning (2 weeks after refund received and remedy promised, with no uninitated contact from Global and no remedy or details of remedy to date) we received an angry call from Mr. Lewis threatening us, claiming that we had damaged his business reputation by means of these online public reviews and that we had written knowingly false information and that he would attack our business in response.

*It is worth noting that there was one previous attempt on our part after 5 days of no action or communication from Mr. Lewis regarding his promises of remedy that we stated we would reinstate our original reviews as it was clear that there was a pattern of non-communication and unfulfilled duties on their part, and that we felt an obligation to the public to alert them of such facts. It was at this time that we received 7 sequential phone calls (unanswered by us) and 16 aggressively worded text messages regarding our intent to make public the details of our interactions with him and his company.

We would like to address that claim and also give emphasis on a few certain facts regarding the interactions with Mr. Lewis and Global Cannabinoids, et al:

1. A restatment of the fact that we sent payment of $2040 to the assigned bank account per direction of the 'sales rep' taking the orders for the company. Immediately after payment we failed to receive receipt of payment, only getting acknowledgement of reciept from repeated phone and email attempts. Once we were able to get a rep on the phone, we still did not have an official ETA for shipment, let alone have product in hand, 2 weeks later. At that point we began to research the company and learned that information about the management of the company was not public and impressively difficult to locate a point of contact for further escalation.

Through our own research, we learned that the company Global Cannabinoids had until recent times done business under the name Entourage Nutritional Distrobution. We found court proceedings against Entourage Nutritional and proceeded to contact the opposing party and their counsel. We received a prompt response from the suing party (who for the record won the suit by either settlement or court action, it is unclear which). This party sent us the following reply to our inquiry:

"Unfortunately all I can do is confirm what you already know: you are doing business with some bad dudes. There are lawsuits knee deep on Lewis and Merritt, the “owners” of Global Cannabinoids. They are both on the run now, I think Columbia. Run a Google search on John Merritt if you want some more background on his legal troubles. Ryan Lewis is literally #1 on the list of greaseball CBD people. Just hard for new customers to know all this.

Sorry for the bad news. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to help you out of the predicament with the oil."

This response, in addition to converstations on Facebook with two other customers of Global Cannabinoids who had to chargeback their payments after two months of no response or receipt of product they ordered, prompted us to go public with the situation as we have done here and on other online forums.

2. It was at this time we finally received a reply from the company owners, specifically Mr. Ryan Lewis and actions were taken by him to remedy the situation.

*An interesting note during this inital conversation was that Mr. Lewis directly mentioned the existence of fraudulent activity in this industry and that he understood our reaction. If he knows that this type of activity occurs and understands, why would he not understand the gravity of our response?

----

We would like to make it clear that only at the time of the threat of reporting to law enforcement and public outing of their names did the owners of Global Cannabinoids offer to remedy the situation.

Which brings us back to the call we received this morning from Mr. Lewis threatening suit against us for defamation and libel (slander was his term, which is technically invcorrect). But we would like to make clear that we did in fact receive a full refund for our order and have been made whole in those terms.

We would like to make clear to anyone seeking to do business with this party the circumstances surrounding our experience with them. These are the facts of the proceedings and it has been threatened to us in the call this morning and through text message that if we do not remove the names of the owners from these reports that we would face suit.

We feel an obligation to others who may come into contact with Global Cannabinoids et al to give warning to the events that have occured. And even though we received refund, we have yet to receive the remainder of the remedy promised and have in addition to that received threatening phone interactions because of our making public these events.

-----

Do with this information what you will. These are the facts which can be verified on the Global Cannabinoid's facebook page under the reviews section and through further private correspondence upon request as all communications with Ryan Lewis, the company who previously sued the owners of Global, all correspondence with the initial sales rep, and other customers who have experienced similar interactions have all been thoroughly documented.
