Global Timeshare Sales; Alan Trent; Brian Davis; Vacation Property Network, Global Timeshare Sales lied about buyers being in their office who had signed an Offer to Purchase. They are now blaming a soldier in Iraq for the delay. Brockton Maine

On Sept. 18, 2008 I received an unsolicited phone call from Alan Trent of Global Timeshares (1-800-859-9394) telling me that a couple had come into his office and made an offer to buy my Timeshare at Velas Vallarta.

He said the people were buying it for their grandchildren, and asked if I wanted to sell it.
Since the timeshare was for a Studio and a Villa Plus, they wanted to split the cost of it into 2 equal payments with use @ odd & even years.

He was insistent that I make up my mind to pay the fee so that the purchase for sale could be completed. He left the phone for a few minutes & came back to tell me that the Offer to Purchase' had been signed & they could not back out now.

It sounded like the sale was actually going to go through, so I gave Alan my credit card no. & he charged me $2,950. USD.

Alan told me I would have the Closing Documents in 45-60 days. He also said that someone from their office will phone to ask if I want to put up my timeshare for sale & if I was told that I have a buyer, I was to say NO. He said it was illegal to tell me I had a buyer before it was advertised, & he could be in trouble.

I phoned on Oct.2/08 twice, & left messages for Alan to call me. I phoned Oct.3/08 again, as the documents had not arrived, & had to leave a message.

Mail arrived on Oct 9/08, but it was only a contract for me to sign. I phoned again & talked to Brian Davis, as Alan was not available. I asked Brian if my Timeshare was actually sold & could I have some proof of the sale. He went to look up my file, then told me it was definitely sold & that I got a good price for it. He could not send me anything as the documents were at the Land Titles office, & it was safe to sign the contract.

On Dec.1/08 I spoke to Brian Davis again & asked him if I was being scammed by them. He assured me I was not being scammed & that I would have the documents within 3 weeks, or to call him again.

There were many more phone calls but I was only able to speak to Rachel, the assistant & she would come back with a different story for the delay, each time. My last call was on Jan.19/09 & I was told that one of the buyers was in Iraq and he would fax his signature to them as soon as he could find a fax machine.

Now they are blaming soldiers in Iraq for their fraudulent schemes.
