Global Timeshare Sales - M & R Marketing Rude, childish & pushy Scammers Brockton Massachusetts

Thank you Rip Off Report! This company 'Global Timeshare Sales' should be put out of business and more. Today (19 September 2008), my wife and I have had a very unpleasant morning dealing with 'Paul Sigfuson' of GTS.

Paul called us the first time this morning on a phone number from Kissimmee Florida. As in previous Rip Off Reports, we were told that he had a buyer for our timeshare that we have been trying to sell for a number of years. He did sound convincing and we were told that for our $1350 'closing costs' he would guarentee our sales of $23,600 to his buyer.

We got the usual (it apprears) story that the whole deal would be concluded withing 45-60 days, even though 'they' were allowed 90 days to close the deal. All we would have to do is return the forms and contract, after signing, to him and it would be a done deal. He said he would call back in about 45 minutes to tell us how the sale was going.

I immediately went to the internet and started searching for the company and it's 'US Dept. of Consumer Services' registraton number of TC2806. I could not find that number listed in the Consumer Services web site. I did find that number without the TC in front, but it listed two entirely different companies. I continued searching the internet for phone numbers, addresses or any other information I could find on this company.

He called back after about 30 minutes and asked us if we were sure the $23,600 would be acceptable to us as a sale price. We, of course, agreed that would be acceptable. I told him the only concerns we had were of this being a phising/scam and we were not happy to give him our credit card number without further proof of authenticity of his company and this deal. We asked him to send us a letter with the company letterhead and information stating that they wanted to sell our timeshare and this money was for that purpose.

At this stage he became abusive to my wife and I. He called us idiots and that if we had a brain we should use it. My wife and I had already decided not to buy into this deal with him. When I told him that, he really became nasty and pushy. After more verbal abuse from Paul, we hung up the phone.

He immediately phoned back and was very childish. He said we hung up so it was his turn to hang up, which he did. He then called back and said it was our turn to hang up! We accused him of being very unprofessional and told him the deal was finished and so were we. I laid the phone down and after a while he was gone.

Upon further research, I found the great 'ripoffreport.com' website. We researched the Global Timeshare Sales company and found many reports dating back to 2006. My wife and I are almost retired and could ill afford this $1350 payment for nothing. I hope this report helps anyone else that is being contacted by these shysters. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE !!!
