I recently signed an agreement with a Sales Representative from Globe Moving and Storage out of Garden City KS.  The Sales Rep. provided me with an agreement that included an estimate that was supposedly binding.  The estimate stated my belongings would be delivered within 7 days from my requested delivery date.  The estimate also stated that the pricing was calculated by lbs.  Globe's website will explain why lbs is much better than cubic feet for interstate moves.
I was across the country in business meetings the day of my move. My husband was at my home when Globe arrived.  The representatives from Globe Moving and Storage loaded my entire house and when they were ready to leave informed my husband that the Sales Rep. had completely underestimated and the move would cost us over double!  They said we would be better to go with cubic feet which would only cost $1200 more.  We tried calling our Sales Rep and customer serivce, but nobody answered, for 3 days!!!!  So, we signed.  We were told the only change in our agreement was the cubic feet issue.  This was not the case at all!!!
I am currently at a home in California, with no belongings.  I can not go to business appointments because my business clothes for work are on a truck somewhere.  I guess the agreement that they put in front of my husbands face and told him to immediately sign at the end of a long moving day stated that my belongings may not be delivered for 30 days.  This was on the back of page 4 in fine print! I have a family of 4 and nobody at Globe can even tell me when I will receive my belongings.
I paid a deposit on my first agreement that they say is null and void of over $800.  My husband wrote a check for over $1400 for the agreement they explained was "really best for us and saving us tons of money."
Customer service either doesnt answer or doesnt return calls.  The Supervisor Roy, says I am out of luck and my husband should have never signed the agreement that they presented us with as a better choice! My family is living out of 1 suitcase each with no end in sight.  Supposedly the Manager has been out of town for days and they have no idea when he will be back.  I have had to request a leave from my employer and have only been employeed for 90 days.
This is horrible! These people have no intergrity.  There are other complaints on this website.  They are true! Trust me.. I hope this saves someone else from ever booking a move with Globe Moving and Storage.  This company is a fraud and has caused me and my family much pain.  Thank-you-
