We had a repayment plan with GMAC. They accepted the May payment (it was late-we did not know that a regular check was not accepted-they had to return it and we resent in correct form) We were told no problem.

The June payment has been returned to us a total of 5 times, the July payment twice. Always with a form letter that says nothing. In spite of our repeated requests to have a reason in writing, they could not/would not do this. We found out they canceled the repayment plan in June--they never told us.

They have also now filed a default on our property. Insanity!! We made every effort to make the payments, they rejected without giving a reason. We have always insisted that everything be done in writing to protect us both. They admitted as such-all they have are form letters!!!

We have filled out more forms for loss/mitigation. We should NOT have had to do that as we made every effort, these people can't/won't communicate in writing, and the 800# is a joke.

We found out about the default because of letters/phone calls coming from people soliciting our business to prevent foreclosure. I think that GMAC is just bullying me/us as we can't afford to go out and hire a lawyer to help us with this. I/we have over 24 pages of letters written or faxed.

This whole thing reeks of corporate greed, we were willing to work with them, they could not respond to a simple request to keep things in writing.

How can they cancel a plan and not notify us?

How can they file default without telling us??

After reading your entire report, I filed mine on 9/19/07 from Philadelphia, PA, I had to comment on your journey with Homecomings Financial/GMAC. I also dealt with the Voice of the Customer team. They have NO AUTHORITY to make any decisions or make any changes to your account. They cannot accept payments or correct records. Their main purpose is to answer complaints with the BBB and put on a "happy face" for the company, while temporarily defusing bad situations between the customers and the workers at the Horsham, PA branch.
The only department that had the authority to help and change my account was the loss mitigation department in Dallas, Texas. The person in charge of accounts there is named "Jason." He decided NOT to help me because I am disabled, and my home is being sold at Sheriff's sale on October 2nd. However, their office at 2711 N. Haskell Ave., Suite 900, Dallas TX 75204, is the main accounts office. The Horsham,PA branch is a waste of time. They have no power or authority to do anything. If all else fails, contact the following people: Eric Feldstein, Chief Executive Officer/ William Muir, President/ Sanjiv Khattri, Chief Financial Officer, GMAC Financial Services, 200 Renaissance Center, P.O.Box 200, Detroit, MI 48265-2000. The NIGHTMARE with GMAC MORTGAGE IS NOT OVER!

I spoke too soon. Last week we got a FedEx delivery from GMAC with a new financial workout packet. THIS IS AFTER we had been told the our old repayment plan would be in effect. TODAY, the SEPTEMBER payment was returned.

THIS IS NOT what GMAC Voice of the Customer Team led us to believe! The real problem is that these people are spread out all over the country (we have dealt with people in 6 states) that the right hand doesn't even know the left hand exists! I called and left VM with Voice of Customer. this is beyond insane!

It pays to raise the roof!! I got a call today from the Voice of the Customer Team in PA. As of today, we have resolved the issue(s).

I will come back and update if that changes. but take this to heart. you can be a real pain in the rear. but keep pressing!

Located via google search, a person in New York City, and emailed her. She forwarded the email to voice of the customer team. That was last week and we have heard nothing back. I located the email address for the Voice of the Customer team and sent an email to them myself.

It is amazing, we have tried and are trying to get this resolved and still no response.
