The first day .XXX domain sites became "available" on approximately sept 12, 2011 I bought two sites using my godaddy.com account at $199 per .XXX site for a total of $398. What was odd was that during the purchase there was no user agreement box to check and actually there was no user agreement at all.
A week later i got a user agreement emailed to me from godaddy.com which stated that what i purchased was no actually the site but an auction slot for the site i selected. Ouch. If i was the only one in the auction i would receive the site, if i lost the auction i would be refunded my half of my money. Godaddy explained it that half of the $199 per site is for administrative costs and is not refundable under any circumstances? Hmmm ok.
I thought that godaddy.com was reputable until this transaction. Is there anyone else out there who as had a similar experience with the .XXX domains.
Was there any other web hosting companies selling .XXX domains and were they treated in a similar fashion.
Is godaddy.com reputable?

very interesting, after the auctions ended for the xxx domain websites on 5 december, those who did not agree to the contracts later emailed out by godaddy were given full refunds. in one of the godaddy emails it says full refunds were given due to errors in processing or something to that effect. another email states losers of auctions will be refunded half of the 200 dollars they put up. i got a full refund but did not agree to the terms and conditions later sent to me by godaddy. at any rate i ended well for me. keep it up ripoff report, this site rules. btw just ordered the ripoff revenge book on how to collect from judgements, looking forward to getting it.

The short answer is yes. The .XXX top level domain is being offered in PHASES.
You can read about how this is being accomplished here: http://www.networksolutions.com/domain-name-registration/xxx-domain-extension.jsp
I'm surprised Go Daddy didn't explain that to you.
