This is another report to add to the many reports of ripoffs by Go-Doers.
Like others, I can't believe I fell for their spiel when they came to my door on June, 13, 2007. I'm generally much more cautious, but they were very smooth and earnest and seemed like ambitious young people.
Fortunately, I only ordered one magazine, for a total of $30. I knew the price was high for a subscription, but figured that I could consider part of it as a charitable donation for these "ambitious, goal-oriented" young men.
The next day, I had a bad feeling about the encounter, and did a google search. Like I'm sure you who are reading this are discovering right now, I discovered that this company is basically a front for rip-off artists.
I figured I'd never get the magazine, and threw the receipt in a drawer. In cleaning out the drawer today, almost exactly 1 year later, I came across the receipt. Of course, in the year that has passed, I never did receive the magazine I ordered.
Tried calling the company today. Got the same recording as the last person who filed a report about this company at www.repoffreport.com: The owner had died; they are processing orders; etc., etc. So, looking at the dates in the previous report, that same recording has been there for at least 9 months, if not more.
Tried to check it out on the Better Business Bureau website, but all I got was a notice that Go-Doers is not a BBB accredited or affiliated company. Seems like the BBB doesn't keep an archive of searchable complaints against companies unless the company is registered with the BBB, so that is not a useful route to warn others about Go-Doers.
Anyway, be warned. Do not do any business with this "company."
