I received a call from this number (876-866-9538) around 9:30am. i was half asleep so its a little jarbled but i was told i was drawn a winner for 5 million dollars and a mercedes-benz e series. the call was disconnected as soon as i was told this. i called the number back and the lady apologized and said the call was dropped due to poor reception. so shes on a cell phone. i inquired about the prize and how i was selected. she told me that i was placed in the drawing by either shopping at walmart, paying my bills, or buying gas, something of that nature. she said her company is goldrush international. quick google search and about 9 scam reports pop up. figured id have a little fun. she said the money would be delivered by fedex or dhl and asked which i would prefer. she proceeded to tell me that in order to prevent the IRS from taxing the prize money, they were going to transfer the money from an international account and required $199 to process the transaction. thats when i started asking questions about the whole process and requested some kind of verification for the drawing. she didnt have the answer and told me shed have her manager call me back in a few mins. after about 5 mins i received a call from 876-551-3814 and spoke with a man who called himself David Narvosky. he said i had won 2nd prize of 2.5 million and the mercedez-benz and wanted to ask a few questions. he asked if i was a us citizen, if i was born a us citizen, if i was single divorced or such, who my beneficiary would be, asked my occupation, and if i wanted the money delivered publicly or privately. he also asked if i was 57. he said i sounded like i was 57. thought that was kinda odd and dont know what angle hes playing there. then he told me they required $775.85 (later $775.25) for insurance on the money, supposedly refundable after claiming my prize, to be transferred via western union to james fuller 4900 n roxbord st durham nc. i asked about a zipcode and he told me there was none which may or may not be relevant. he said the money would be delivered by ups. he made it a point to mention he was polish a few times and that he was raised a christian. im in sales so i spot a good salesman quick. this guy has been doing this for a while. he quickly realized that i know the process and every time i tried to talk he would talk over me and cut me off and was quite rude once he realized i wasnt gonna be sidetracked by his b.s. all i asked him for is some kind of tracking number or license number, any kind of verification that there was any kind of drawing or contest. he said it was good that im skeptical but it was only because i was young. all he gave me was the business license for nevada #72205. business license #s in nevada are 7 digits. 72205 is the zipcode for little rock, ar. he faxed a paper to me (via fedex kinkos) that was supposed to contain verification. the paper i received had a letterhead from NARS. National Asset Recovery Service. it also had a watermark on the bottom for Freedom Tax Relief and was signed Mr. Billy Goldman. no verification whatsoever. i couldve typed this up in ten minutes. i did a quick search for that name and came up with nothing that linked this name to either of these companies. Lotto Net International LTD is also mentioned in this letter. quick google search and the word scam, fake or fictitious comes up in almost every result. now i have enough info to have a field day with this guy. i tried to call back at the number on the letterhead which is the same number he gave me (876-804-4874) but reached a computer generated message stating that the number could not be reached directly. called a few times and after the third time or so the line would stay blank and disconnect after 9 secs every time. an hour or so later he called me and i started asking questions. never got a straight answer on anything. guess he finally gave up and told me he has put more effort into this than he should have and if i wanted to proceed it was up to me and hung up on me. at that point i just laughed and thats the end of it.
