I purchased a scantool from company. When it arrived it was defective. After trying to get support through trouble ticket and unreturned calls to support line posted a message on scantool website's forum and finally got a response from the forum administrator/company owner, David Gore. He admitted that several units like mine had been sent out by mistake and they were all experiencing the same trouble as mine. He then instructed me to send it back with a note explaining the trouble and he would send me a replacement. I did so, sending it back to him USPS priority mail, the same way he had sent it to me. I waited about a week and tried to get in touch with him through his forum. He did not respond to my forum post. I sent him another forum post and he didn't respond to it either. It has been almost two months since I sent the defective unit back and he will not respond to my forum posts or calls to his support line. He advertises a 30 day money back guarantee and one year warranty on defective parts and workmanship. He does not honor his warranty or offer the support he claims to have. The greeting on the support line says that they will return your call or email you within 24 hours. They never have done either for me. If you log into his forum, myscantool.com/forum, you will see other posts by dissatisfied customers. The forum is the only way to get a message to him and he does not, in most instances, respond to posts. He just ignores you. This unit cost me $162 and since I mailed him the defective one and he didn't replace it then I am out the money. He is definitely a crook.

First of all, I apologize for any difficulty you may have experienced in communicating with us. The support system and forum that you mention have been done away with and new systems are currently in place and have been working relatively well for over a year now.

I don't have enough information from your report to locate your order. However, if you would provide your order number, or date and full name and address, I would be more than happy to research this. If you were not provided with a replacement unit, we will be more than happy to provide you with the latest hardware/software combo that we currently offer and provide you with a significant discount. Or if you never received a refund and have no need for this merchandise, we will refund 110% of your original purchase price.
