On July 31, 2009 I purchased an engine for my 1989 Dodge Raider for $1195, from Doug Hilliard.  The problems started right away.  I never got email confirmation of my purchase.  I tried to phone Doug several times.  Eventually on August 10, 2009 I got an email receipt.

I received the engine on August 12, 2009.  The engine was installed and was found to be defective.  I had it confirmed by an SAE certified mechanic that there was a rod knocking in the lower part of the engine.

I emailed Doug Hilliard on August 31, 2009 and informed him of the problem, as he never would return my calls.  He informed me he was locating a replacement engine.  Over the next three months I called and emailed Doug repeatedly to find out the status of my replacement.  It was a common theme throughout this ordeal of no one answering or returning my calls.

At the beginning of December I tried to call Doug again.  The phone was answered by Pat who informed me that Doug was no longer with the company.  Pat said he would call me back and let me know if they could find a replacement.  I never heard back from Pat.

I phoned Pat again on December 8, 2009.  He said they could not locate a replacement and would be refunding my money in 7-10 days.

I waited for two weeks and never received my money.  For two-three weeks I tried to call Pat and Melissa Hollenbeck (warranty dept).  I left many, many messages.  No one ever returned my call.

On January 4, 2010 I called the regular Got Engines phone number.  I informed whoever answered that I have left many messages with Pat and Melissa and got no return call.  He said he would physically go to their office and have them call me.  Pat finally called me, apologized for the delay and said it was being processed.

On January 5, 2010 Melissa emailed me and said I would be getting my refund and an email confirming the processing of my return.  It has not happened.

On January 7, 2010 I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.  I have yet to here anything about my refund.

After numerous phone calls and emails, Got Engines finally sent me a check for the refund.  It was not easy.  I am so glad to be quit of this company.  I will never do business with them ever again.
