 When buying laptops lots, stay away of the turns on only....we learned the hard way and now we are stuck with 50 broken laptops....yes, they turn on but bad motherboard on all of them and will not show anything on the screen! We can sell them en eBay but that will not give us our 3K back. We bought many lots before and never had any problem. When we checked, the ones we had bought before all said turns on to bios...this last lot only said turns on, something that we missed...Just trying to save someone else a headache and a loss.

Have been bidding on lots from GovLiquidation for a few years now, and would offer these tibits
- Do not assume anything on the condition of the lot or it's composition. Govliquidation covers their hind end in the agreement you check when you submit a bid. If it is important to you, take the time to arrange to inspect the lot. You can contract another company to inspect the lot, but this has to be added to your cost of aquisition. as with any auction, it is as is condition, so buyer beware!
- READ THE FULL ITEM LISTING PRIOR TO BIDDING! There are several classifications that require special paperwork to be able to purchase a lot and some require mutilation of the lot as a condition of purchase that may render the lot unsutable for your purpose. Those with a red cirle and white exclamation in the summary description require an end use certificate (EUC) be obtained. This is about a 45 day process the first time through, 30 days thereafter. Medical use items require an FDA certificate which requires a medical practitioner or similar.. Electronics (as well as all EUC items) have export restrictions and may require a paper trail. These clasifications will appear at the bottom of the full lot descriptrion.
- many of these items are put into lots by someone who may not have backround with the particular item. Mislabellings do occur. All the more reason for site inspection.
- if the picture does not seem kosher with the description, call the site office and let them know you suspect that what is shown is not the item described and have them verify. Don't hold your breath on hearing back however.
- I personally only bid on items within range that I can pick them up, usually a 3 hour radius. The cost to pickup is computed prior to my bidding, so I do not end up paying more than new for an item that is in less than pristine condition.
- Some items may be recalled. I have had this happen on one lot. I purchased a lot of steel pipe with heavy steel baseplates that I had hopped to use for a hoisting beam on my farm. They ended up being reclassified for destruction only, and I ended up having to get them picked up (at GovLiquidation's expense, I made sure of that)
- always remember you are dealing with a contractor to the government. They operate at the whim of the government and are about as efficient.
- isolate your bidding to local sites.

All in all, I have been happy with the lots I have purchased. I have walked away from lots because they were more than I was willing to gamble on. And in most things on an auction they are a calculated risk. I have purchased portable freezer buildings that have made an excellent shop and storm shelter, Generator armatures and cook stove burners that have yeilded a profit in their scrap value. Two 550cc gas motors rated at 5 HP that with minor mods can generate 20-30HP. And I have ended up with a couple of duds that cost me

People buy non working for parts only all the time and I got news for you I have seen some pretty worthless(to me)stuff sell for a pretty penny, because of the shear numbers of customners you will at least make your money back, put a reserve of your cost and shipping.

I think you will be surprised, I am sorry usually if you buy government stuff, it is going to have been used and abused, so keep that in mind.
