my husband had originally went to a web site called,grantfundingsearch.com. At first he saw free info for grants, and all you do is send shipping and handling for 1.98, but in small writing it says after 7 days you will be charged 69.95 for access to web site. so he backed out of it. but then we got a call from them. i then got on the phone with the coustomer service rep(john yellen) (license #clx4003)is the info he gave me. He said that we could get the free infobut we would have to call back this coustomer service number to cancel the access to the web site that would cost 69.95 before 7 days from ordering the free package.

i had ordered the free package, so they had our information. they took out the 1.98 the same day.he also said that they would be sending me a user name and password for my 7 day free web search on grantsfundingsearch.com.

within 24 hours through my email, but on the phone he did give me a temporary user name and password. when i didnt get the email,i used the temporary user name and password. by doing this i was some how transferred to another site called grants.gov. when i entered the site it said "welcome back andrew", so this tells me that this was not the only time that they got us. i really couldnt get anywhere with this web site so i figured by jan.27,2009 i would cancel my order.

in doing so i called the service number they gave me which was 1 888-210-2544 and a recording comes on to say please hold for the next available rep,and it then basically hangs up if you dont leave a message for them.

so just to be safe we reported a lost card so that they only got the 1.98 instead of all that they were aiming to get which was the 69.95 we have yet to tell the bank about this scam artist.so be very aware of this scammer.they are so fake!!!

p.s. while being linked from grantfundingsearch.com to grants.gov.while i was on this site,i had printed some numbers.one of the numbers says....(fruad alert:if you have received a phone callfrom someone seeking your bank account or personal information in order to process a goverment grant that you did not apply for,you can submit a complaint with the federal trade commission.
also if you have information reguarding a grant fruad specific with to hhs, please contact the hhs fruad hotline at 1 800-447-8477 i just hope this will help others.
