I was recently contacted by Cat at GC&T. I was given the speech about how they have several pre-approved buyers who are waiting to buy my vehicle. I reluctantly agreed to their program after her assuring me that my car would sell immediately and that if it didnt, I could get my money back with their money back guarantee. I was also told that I could continue in the program and if I didnt sell my vehicle with in the 90 days, I could complete the form online for a full refund. It seemed too good to be true. Now Im hating myself for NOT checking this company out online BEFORE giving them approval to charge my visa!

Since 8/7 when I gave the approval to join this silly car selling scheme, Ive been contacted 4 additional times by other salespersons trying to get me to join the program. I thought I joined on the 7th! This made me very suspicious to continue getting calls about joining so I decided to do a little investigation (which I should have done initially) and now I see that Im not the only one with problems from GC&T.

I called earlier to speak to someone in customer services and was told they were out, call back in 10 minutes. So I waited 10 minutes and called again. I got a real smart a*s who basically said, tuff you are in a contract and you can not get out. What an a 88 hole he was! We exchanged words and then he hung up on me. I called again this afternoon asking for a supervisor and was put with Dave another winning gem. He continued to talk over me while I was simply trying to explain that I did not sign a contract AND I was miss lead when I agreed to this whole thing. He said that I could not do anything towards getting my money back until AFTER my 90 days. When I tried explaining that this is NOT what I was told, he said I was told wrong. Now Ive contacted the so called home office and have left a message for someone to call me. Apparently everyone was in a meeting, I guess talking about how to lie to new customers, and no one was available to speak to me.

Has ANYONE had luck getting your money back from these slime balls??? I need guidance on what I can do.

Great cars and trucks rep keeps getting better every day

AUTHOR: Mad - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, August 11, 2007

Here is a report I copied off another complaint message board for your review

Beware Doing Business with Great Cars and Trucks.com
Date: May 16, 2007

BEWARE DOING BUSINESS with GREAT CARS AND TRUCKS

The San Diego, South Central Ontario and Atlanta BBBs share a warning with other BBBs about a company that is abusing the name of autotrader, a member of the BBB.

The BBB has been receiving reports from hundreds of consumers who are advertising cars for sale in Auto Trader that they are receiving calls from Great Cars and Trucks, a Canadian company with the following contact info:

greatcarsandtrucks.com

1011 UPPER JAMES, HAMILTON, ON L9C 3A6

(905) 389-2271

offering to buy their cars but hundreds of complaints warning that they are being greatly misled by these calls from greatcarsandtrucks.com.

Consumer complaints allege that after placing an ad in Auto Trader, they are receiving calls from Great Cars and Trucks claiming to have buyers interested in their vehicles. For a small fee, the company states that it will put the car seller in contact with the potential buyers that Great Cars and Trucks claims to have.

Based on BBB files, this company has an extreamly high unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to unanswered complaint(s). This Company claims to have a success rate for sale of your used car and guarantees money back if the sale does not take place. The customer money back guarantee is vague in detail at best.

Consumers are cautioned to be very mindful before signing any contracts. It is very important to be fully aware of when your ad date took effect as this is the date of importance with regard to the money back guarantee. The consumer will only have seven days to make application for monetary reimbursement based upon the ad date. The contractual clauses referencing the money back guarantee are somewhat confusing as reported by members of the public.

The BBB cautions any consumer interested in selling a used car to carefully read and review any contract you may enter into with Great Cars and Trucks.com.

According to a recent news report done by XETV FOX6, San Diego, on these circumstances, Auto Trader has sent a Cease and Desist letter to Great Cars and Trucks but the company hasn't responded, and when AutoTrader.com attempted to contact the company directly, they were hung up on. Auto Trader has released this statement about its situation:

"AutoTrader.com is committed to providing car buyers and sellers an honest online marketplace that respects their personal information. Among our measures to prevent misuse is the site's Visitor Agreement, which provides in pertinent part that visitors may not 'use our website to promote without our prior written permission, any other website, product or service.' That assures our seller customers their information won't be misappropriated, and that they won't be harassed or taken advantage of in any way by anyone not using the site to purchase the cars they are selling.

"When vendors of other goods and services violate our Visitor Agreement by harvesting a seller customer's contact information and using such information for their own commercial purposes, we respond aggressively to protect the integrity of our site and the rights of our customers."

TIPS

1. Car sellers who list their vehicle with AutoTrader.com and have received an unsolicited phone call from Great Cars and Trucks may report the incident to an AutoTrader.com Fraud Watch Customer Service Representative by calling (877)742-8040. Or email: fraudwatch@autotrader.com

2. Consumers who have an unresolved issue concerning this company should file dual complaints with both the South Central Ontario BBB as well as their state Attorney General's office.

I went after them for two years and got my money back, lol but don't worry you won't have to wait that long. I hate this company so much I have been in contact with the CBC here in Canada and they will be busting open their scamming and told me this time not only will there be a news report on them which has happened a few times in the past but this time the CBC are getting law enforcement involved from Canada and the U.S
I also have other people involved but want to keep that part quiet for now in case the low life himself reads this.

You have a certain amount of time to file a despite with you credit card company I think it's 30 days or so but you also have whats called a colling of period when you can cancle any contract with in 3 days of the time you agreed.

Read it here at (((ROR REDACTED)))

I would simply cancel your credit card and have them issue a new card to you, make sure the credit card company files the dispute,( call them back a few hours later to confirm the dispute is filed) explain to the credit card company that at first when you gave them your number you wanted their service but then after you read up on cc&t you found several thousands of complaints all over the world and Internet for over the past 15 years against them and so you called them back with in the 3 day cooling of period and canceled but then they went ahead and charged you card anyway which is against the law!

Contact every fraud buster company you can and lay a formal complaint.
Please it's important to do this. It's the only way this low life is going to get busted!

FBI
Phone busters
Fraud busters
so on and so on.
