Great West Chrysler Dodge Jeep Mission Statement: To provide our customers with a shopping, buying, and service ownership experience that consistently satisfies each individual's needs and exceeds their expectations in a comfortable, supportive environment.

I am deeply sorrowed by my experience with your company. I have been a long time customer of yours having purchased no less that 3 previous vehicles from you.

I came into the facility on Friday to discuss the future tradein on the Jeep Cherokee which has its lease expiring in 3 months. AT that time I was directed to talk to a fellow by the name of BRAD. I spent considerable time with this fellow discussion my options and even went as far as to take a couple vehicles for test drives.

I am looking to purchase 2 vehicles on or before my lease expires in June. (My wife and I have recently given birth to a 3rd child, it't time for a 2nd vehicle and I need one to replace my jeep.)

I even went as far as to fill out the necessary applications for financing, and pending a few issues was willing to purchase the vehicles. Brad told me that I had to put down a deposit of $500.00 on the two vehicles to hold them. I agreed to $50 each for a total of $100.00.

At that time I was very clear to BRAD that my wife had to approve of the vehicles and that I wanted to take the vehicles out to a 3rd party for inspection.

Brad guaranteed to me that at no time was my deposit at risk.
My wife and her father was in on Saturday to look at the vehicles. At that time we realized that both the vehicles had previously been in accidents.

I spoke with Brad on Monday and told Brad that I was uncomfortable with purchasing these vehicles and because I still had 3 months till I had to turn in my jeep, thought that perhaps I should let the hold on the vehicles go and take some more time to look for other vehicles. I told him that I would be in on Tuesday after work for the $100.00 refund and He said that it would be ok and that there was no problem with the deposit being refunded.

On Tuesday I came in about 5:30 and mentioned to Brad that I felt that the price of thepurchase offer was about $1000.00 over valued, and that if he could find a way to reduce the offer by $1,000 that I would feel comfortable taking the vehicles out for 3rd party inspection, since the vehicles had been in an accident. He was agreeable to this and went to talk to some fellow by the name of Peter for approval.

Peter came over to me, very hostile, and started yelling at me about how he just spent $1,300 in fixing these vehicles and that I had to take them. He even went as far as to suggest that I had already signed the paperwork.

At that point, I felt very uncomfortable with the whole situation and simply asked for my refund.

Peter overruled the Guarantee I had from Brad and I was told that I would not get my $100.00 deposit back. I can understand that Brad was put in a very awkward position He had guaranteed me that a refund would not be an issue as I have been a long time customer and would be purchasing 2 vehicles from Great West Jeep within the next few months.

He was, however, not willing to go against the wishes of Peter (his boss????) and apologized and told me that he was very very sorry. He said that $100.00 was not worth his losing his job over. I asked him about his word, and what it meant to him. He agreed that he had told me one thing and that this Peter had over ruled him. Again he apologized, but he could not give me my deposit back.

I am not quite sure exactly what happened here, but I would appreciate a response back from someone. I would especially appreciate my $100.00 deposit back.

if Mr. Chernard was so upset with Great West Chrysler , why did he purchase a vehicle from us within approximately 30 days

AUTHOR: Ray - (Canada)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 09, 2003

Re: Lucian Chernard Complaint over $100.00 deposit (April/02)

First of all deposit was refunded to the customer within two days of the assumed situation.

Secondly one would assume , a customer as upset as Mr. Chernard appears to be in his complaint, would not likely approach this place of business. Ironically Mr. Chernerd purchased a vehicle from Great West Chrysler in May/02 shortly after said complaint, and another vehicle in October of 2003.

Great West Chrysler would appreciate our rebuttal to the above mentioned complaint printed with the complaint to prove to the public that most complaints of this nature are greatly exaggerated and prove very little.

Our point is that if Mr. Chernard was so upset with Great West Chrysler , why did he purchase a vehicle from us within approximately 30 days from said occurrence. Therefore the said complaint is truly redundant.

Did I demand $1000??? Really

AUTHOR: Lucian - (Canada)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 03, 2003

I was happy to follow up with the request made to me by Mr. Robichaud (At least I took the time to spell his name correctly.) His offer to me was a free tank of gas in exchange for my asking ripoff.com to remove my complaint.

I responded with a lenghty email identifying the key issues that I had with Great West Chrysler. I identified how I had been absolutely humiliated by his sales manager, how I had been yelled at in while in the middle of their show room. I identified to him 4 key issues that I had outstanding and requested that he assist me with those areas.

He, in turn, asked me what I was looking for in terms of financial compensation. In the responding email I mentioned that the time I had put into my efforts of getting my $100 refund was worth about $1,000 in what I charge out my labor for when working. He offered me a free tank of gas.

I was attempting to find a starting point, I was looking for some common ground. My experience with Great West Chrysler has been very disapointing, right from the start, and I am not convinced that the public should not be made aware of the way this company chooses to do business.

Deposit Was Refunded

AUTHOR: Ray - (Canada)

POSTED: Tuesday, June 03, 2003

To Whom it may concern. My name is Ray Robichaud, I am the Internet Manager for Great West Chrysler in Edmonton Alberta. I notice that we are being black balled by a previous customer.I have been with Great West Chrysler now for over three years, and I have never worked for a company that treat their employees , or their customers as well as they do here.

The customer that listed this complaint with you,
Mr Lucian Chernard was refunded his 100.00 deposit only a few days later.
Further more , Mr. Chernard purchased a different vehicle from us after he was refunded his 100.00
Mr Chernard stated that he was happy, and satisfied with his purchase.

I dont know why he would take the time to write such a complaint. Also I have talked to the customer myself to try and resolve this problem. Ia'm not quite certain what his problem is anymore.

He demanded that Great West Chrysler give him 1000.00 in order that he remove his complaints from the Internet. At this time I ended my talks with Mr. Chernard as I felt he was being most unrealistic.
I promise any prospective customer reading this, that when dealing with Great West Chrysler you will be treated with the upmost respect , and honesty. We want to earn your business.

thank you
Ray Robichaud Internet Manager Great West Chrysler
