Green Dot Corporation Walmart Money Card, Green Dot Prepaid Visa, Steven W. Streit Fraudulent Business Practices PASADENA California

   I used my Walmart Prepaid Money Card to make two $25.00 payments on two seperate Capital One credit card accounts. These payments were made on the same day (May 27th, 2016) within a few minutes of each other. Both $25.00 payments to Capital One were deducted from my Walmart Money Card account. Days later, I find that one of the $25.00 payments was credited to one Capital One Credit Card, but the second payment was not. This resulted in my Capital One Credit Card account being charged a late payment fee and a declined ACH fee ($50.00).

   I contacted Capital One, and was told that the $25.00 payment on the second credit card was refused by Walmart (Green Dot) because the account was closed. The Walmart money card account is not and was not closed, as I continue to use it to this day, and the first credit card payment of $25.00 was processed successfully. I was instructed by the Capital One representative to contact the bank that the payment was made through to resolve this issue.

  On Thursday, June 2nd, 2016, I contacted Walmart Money Card at the toll free customer service number on the back of my card (877)937-4098, and was connected to and transferred through numerous operators before I finally connected with an "account specialist". Long story as short as possible, I was told that I would have to initiate a three-way call between Capital One and an "account specialist" to help resolve this issue.

   I contacted "Rick" at Capital One's payment investigations department, and together, we began our trek through the maze of prompts, hold times, and transfered calls, until we finally spoke with another Walmart Money Card "account specialist". The "account Specialist" at Walmart Money Card was able to verify that my account is and was open, and that two $25.00 payments were, indeed, made to Capital One on May 27th, 2016. Rick, from Capital One, stated that the first $25.00 payment went through fine, but the second $25.00 payment was refused as Walmart coded the reason as my Walmart money card account was closed. The Walmart Money Card "account specialist" said that she would open a case (SF1785466) and that I should hear back within two business days.

   Today is Tuesday, June 7th, 2016. I have not heard anything from Walmart Money Card regarding the status of my case. I contacted another "account Specialist" at Walmart Money Card to inquire. I was told that my case #SF1785466, had been closed as it was improperly submitted. A new case was opened (01801974) and, again, I was told I should hear back within two days regarding the status of the case. I verified with "April", the "account specialist" that she knew what she was doing so we wouldn't run in to this problem again, but I have my doubts.

   Attempts to reach a live person at Green Dot in Pasadena, California was impossible. My only option is to wait for a call from someone at Walmart Money Card's resolution team to contact me. Meanwhile, Rick, from Capital One, refunded the fee I was charged for a late payment, but did not remove the refused ACH transfer fee. I receive daily emails from Capital One reminding me that my payment is not only past due, but has increased to reflect my now late payment history and increased APR (thanks so much Walmart Money Card & Green Dot).

   I will follow up in two business day and post my findings here at that time.
