Any person in Charlotte thinking of home remodeling or landscaping their property should read this! Green Wave is a bottomless pit of money. I never heard of workdays that lasted only a few hours a day endlessly lasting months. Try 4 months for a small bathroom upfit.
He over ordered Tile by a whole pallet, I mean a little just in case is fine, but a whole pallet, makes you wonder if he ever tiled before. I got the bill for that, too. Then he ran short on his mortar mix, left my house torn apart for 3 weeks until he finally answered a phone call. It was a real chore just to get him back over to finish. The best part is the job still is not done, and he wants me to pay him a comeback fee since he left his tools on my property.

If it weren't illegal, I'd sell those tools to get back some of the money I lost. In thirty years, this is the worst most disrespectful person I have ever had the dissatisfaction of meeting. Oh, and don't expect to have inspectors around, he seems to like to skip that step.

Mr. Burkett, of Green Wave, LLC., did an excellent job on our custom made, completely tiled, walk in shower in April of 2008. The workmanship was impeccable! He has an excellent eye for detail! He gave us wonderful ideas that DID NOT add excessive dollars to our final cost and stayed within our allotted budget. He was, and continues to be, courteous and completely professional. We would, and have, recommended him to anyone that is looking for a craftsman with an edge.

Scott Burkett recently completed a major master suite renovation for me, including a complete bathroom remodel. He was punctual, professional and totally trustworthy. Scott is skilled in every major trade and was able to complete the job with no outside help. The tile work is excellent and I have received endless compliments on the new bathroom.
You should not hesitate to use Scott Burkett for any project. You'll be happy you called him. The original posting on this sight is a pack of lies...

I will respond to these fabricated accusations according to the order they were presented.

Some workdays indeed only lasted a few hours.
The reasons are as follows:When pouring floor leveler you cannot work on it for about 24 hoursand that was done 3 times. Guess I could just sit around and charge for doing nothing.
Custom tile work is not something you throw on the wall, especially when mosaic borders are used. I personally would not like to rip up something( and pay for) because I was in a hurry.

4 months for the job:
Master Bathroom was started on Dec 15,08 and could have been completed in early Feb(sorry I took some time over Christmas and New Years to be with my family). Also had to stop several times because they were attempting to do some of the work themselves.

Small bath upfit:
BS. Try a Master bath total gut with a custom walk in shower.
This customer and her associate(a computer guy)also tried (poorly) to do some of the work themselves. I ended up having to remove their substandard workmanship and do it right or wait for them to complete before I could procede.
Had to pull the bathtub they set( they tried to skip some steps)
She brought in a different shower pan after the plumbing was set and it had to be changed.
They tried to complete the shower seat on their own but their mix had too much water so it had to be jackhammered out and repoured.
She wanted to grout herself (timeline can be seen on her facebook page) and started grouting where I finished tiling without giving it enough time to dry. This in turn caused the tile to loosen(after being instructed to do that area last)
While waiting for them to finish, an emergency roof job (water damage included, in my childs room) came up(9 days) . I had to finish before it rained again-sorry!
There was a full working bathroom in the house, I wouldn't strand anyone. The shower could not be used because the glass enclosure wasn't installed yet(I did not perform that task), nor was the grout completed for fixtures to be set.
I had communicated this to her from the get go that I was already obligated with another job. By the way, she lives around the corner from us and it was never three weeks that it took us to get back to her. We have a cell phone, home phone, email and did I mention she lives around the corner from us?

Over ordering and charging for overage of tile:
LIAR. She drove (without me being present), to Columbia, S.C. and picked out, payed for, and delivered the materials all by herself (which she ordered short and was notified 1/2 way thru the shower phase of a probable shortage). I had to wait again untill she picked up more tile to finish (took a couple of days).
Ran short of thinset: 1/4 bag OH MY, 1/2 hour to Home Depot.

Left house torn to shreads for 3 weeks:
Like I said 9 days, after communicating with her. She was repainting the master bed herself, my tools in the center of the room, which I previously asked her if I could leave them. That also saved an hour a day for haul in and haul out every day(savings to her), along with her tools on the floor as well.

Comeback fee:
LIAR, Not ever mentioned!

Disrepectful:
BS, always nice.

Inspectors: I asked if on her upcoming project(YES, UPCOMING PROJECT IN WHICH SHE WANTS ME TO WORK ON (CAUGHT on tape) about permits, she replied
" I DON'T WANT TO OPEN THAT CAN OF WORMS."

Need I mention, she only bought 1 shower valve in a 2 valve system, which involved reto fitting and cutting into a completed tile job. But,can you tell. NO.Pros make others' mistakes go away.

I have in my posession, a 9 minute tape of our conversation dated 3-18-09 while returning a tarp ( I had four on this job and picked up hers by mistake) and giving a thank you gift. Also, asking about another job that she would like ME TO DO FOR HER!

Miss Cummis, after her nice letter, has to this day never said 1 derogatory thing to my face about the remodel. She has purchased another home to flip and at the request of a home inspection for a new roof she said" I would just put another layer over the top of the old to save money, CAUGHT ON TAPE!

She stated she was happy with the job I did for her (ON TAPE).

Try doing things right the first time. If you don't know how, consult a professional. It saves headaches later.

I'm not sure if going behind your neighor's back posting lies to the world (liable ?) is how things are done in California, but I was raised so if you have a problem with someone, you talk to that person to resolve it. Not act like everything was peachy in la-la land and then sit across the table from my wife playing cards.

Yes, I will still warranty the work that I have performed for this loon, because I AM A PROFESSIONAL. I have documentation by way of approved taped conversation.(I told her " I was recording for posterity", YOU BE THE JUDGE. I would say be wary of doing work for this person because some people are just never satisfied!!!
