First and foremost, just don't buy a car from Greenway Ford. Just don't. Please.Greenway Ford is the definition of shady, sleezy car salesmen willing to lie and decieve you in any ways possible. And guess what? They don't care. One person actually told us to our faces "we sell 20-30 cars a day. We don't care if people are upset."I made their "job" easy. I went in there. I knew what I wanted. I did not try to haggle too much (even when they only offered me $500 for my trade in that was worth thousands more). The initial sales person, Luis, was extremely UNknowledgeable about the vehicles I was looking at. Not surprising considering he claimed he was "new." I asked questions about the cars that I already knew the answers to just to test him. Fail. Lies.Luis, as well as several other employees we dealt with were sarcastic. Rolled their eyes, laughed in our faces, etc. How charming. He did not tell us the prices of any of the vehicles I was interested in until we actually test drove them. I chose a used 2006 Toyota RAV4. The price listed online was $12,295 and he quoted us $12,695 when we signed the paperwork. Scam. All I asked for was to keep my payments in the range of $200 per month. He came back with a finance deal that was unacceptable so I said NOPE SORRY. He went back and forth with the "finance department" and finally got it lowered to $237/mo for 72 months. Ok. I can work with that. We took the car, signed the paperwork, and left the same day.The car was fairly priced so we did not complain too much about several defects that needed attention. The transmission had obviously never been serviced or flushed. The back tires were old and balding. They refused to even consider simply flushing the transmission. Fine whatever. Here is the problem:We got a call almost a WEEK later saying that we had to bring the car back. The finance company denied the finance arrangement. Not based on credit, but based on the year and mileage of the car. Unless we could now do a 48 month lease at $360 a month, we were screwed. Long story short, Luis and the finance dept fudged all the numbers just to get us in the car and get the paperwork signed, probably KNOWING the bank would deny the finance agreement.OH and my car, the one I traded in, it was gone already. It was not an option to give them back the RAV4 and leave with my original car. BUT, they COULD give me back the $500 they paid me for it. Unbelievable. We went back in, this time with some back-up. We ended up haggling with them and running different co-signors, etc to finally get the payments down to $267/mo for 60 months. We left with the car again. So now of course I am waiting to hear back from them again that the bank also denied that financial arrangement. We will see. These guys know every sleezy used car salesman trick in the book. I will make sure to NEVER, EVER let any friends or family purchase a car from Greenway Ford, and I will definitly be filing a complaint with BBB and Ford, inc. Take your time and money somewhere else.

I was once a car salesman... one of the FEW honest ones.  I worked at a dealership that conducted business honestly.

While reading your complaint, I kept asking myself "Why did this person do business with these scumbags?"

I worked in Orlando, Florida and was always straight-forward with my customers.  I always fully explained to them what the selling price was, what we were giving them for their trade, what their interest rate is, how many months, etc.

To think ANYONE would finance a car for more than 48 months... it's just digging a finanical hole for yourself.  No one should ever do it.

I can not tell you how many of my potential sales were lost to Greenway Ford.  The only way I can figure this out is to conclude that most people do not prefer honest dealing, they'd rather be fooled by a dishonest salesmans crap.  I just don't understand that.

Who is at fault here?  Sure, Greenway Ford, Greenway Chrysler Jeep Dodge, the entire Greenway organization is one big scum-bag organization.   The sad fact is that it was YOU, the one complaining, that is at fault for dealing with them.  You continued to deal with these smart-a*s arrogant and unfriendly salesmen and their "finance department."

I hope you have learned a valuable lesson, and will NOT repeat the terrible mistake you made that you can only blame on YOURSELF.

BTW, NEVER finance a car at a dealership.  Get financing from your own bank or credit union.

You're Right...But...

Greenway IS the STENCH of the car business in Orlando. Didn't you notice the SMELL especially if Frank Frodriguez walked past? Or was he in the Bahama's spending money DEFRAUDED from customers? Did you check your paperwork for the $600-$900 bogus, add on, phoney fees? So, you are 100% correct in that regard...no question about it. But my questions to you are why did you reward them with profit if your initial impression was bad? Why did you buy a car with obvious known problems, like those bad tires? Why on earth are you financing a 7 year old car for six long years??? Not good! Finally, never, never, never fall for the "transmission flush" BS. I Don't care what the advertising says...the ONLY way to service the transmission is to drain the fluid AND change the filter or clean the screen. A flush does not remove debris trapped in the filter and a dirty filter restricts pressure. Additionally, the flushing action can stir up the debris and it settles internally and does damage. Please...don't ever get a flush. Get a draining of the fluid and replace the filter. Any mechanic worth his salt will tell you what I just said. Also, start cultivating a relationship with a good independent mechanic. I mean a REAL mechanic and not a quick oil change place or Walmart. So other than that, you were perfectly correct regarding the slimeball reputation of Greenway. Please spread the word about that. When it comes to FRAUD and DECEPTION along with BOGUS FEES, Greenway and Frank Frodriquez lead the way! And by the way, that fact is very well known among those in the car business in the area. Please be a smart consumer...I know you have the smarts for that!
