Upside down in your vehicle loan

AUTHOR: FloridaNative - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, August 19, 2017

It is common for vehicle's to be worth less than the amount of your loan no matter what your gender, race or age if you, as the buyer, did not put enough money down on the original purchase and/or have a high interest rate loan and/or paid too much for the vehicle. All of this information would have been on your contract for you to read before signing. If you didn't read the contract before you signed it, then take the time to read it now.

The vehicle finance person and the dealership get a commission for selling you a bunch of add on's at the time of your purchase. These add on's are very expensive and usually don't benefit us (the cconsumer).  The typical add on is GAP insurance and worthless auto warranties as well as other nonsensical items. I don't work for any dealer but have purchased many vehicles and have learned that the best thing to do is to get your financing from a credit union before you ever step foot into a dealership.

Do some research. You will see that auto finance scams run rampant in the industry and have nothing to do with race, color, gender or age. Finance people rip consumers off if the consumer isn't watching out for their own interest. It is all about the money and we as consumers have to learn the process to proctect ourselves + read the contract before signing. By the way, I am not defending the finance person at all. I am saying it is up to each and every one of us to protect ourselves because the finance person isn't going to do it. They are the sharks, we are the prey.
