Grossinger Auto Group is the worst dealer group I have ever seen. They have so many issues I couldnt even begin to describe all of the terrible things I have seen since I began working there. (I resigned) They use bait and switch tactics...David Ford who is the business development manager is nothing more than a telemarketer who is told to just bring people in by telling them anything just to make them come to the dealership. The Owner Caroline is one of the most ruthless and careless owners I have ever seen. They fire and hire people on a daily basis (not just salespeople but everyone who is employed there). She has had lawsuit after lawsuit regarding sexual harassment, ruining peoples credit due to not paying off the loan on the vehicle they are trading in which in turn causes their credit to show late payments(watch out for this it could ruin your credit), the conversations that I had overheard and tactics that they use are unbelievable. The truth is noone at any of her dealerships know what is going on. The Owner Caroline has also let people into her organization who are nothing but criminals. Be carefull who you deal with most of the sales people are criminals they will hire anyone...if you dont believe me go to careerbuilder.com and click find jobs then type lincolnwood illinois and select automotive. They will have tons of job postings becasue noone on in the area will even work for them anymore. THIS IS SAD BECAUSE THEIR FATHER WAS A TRUTHFULL AND HONEST BUSINESS MAN....P.S. DO NOT EVER WORK FOR CAROLINE NO MATTER WHAT SHE PROMISES BELIEVE ME SHE WILL TELL YOU ONE THING AND FIRE YOU THE NEXT DAY!

The service appointment to get the problems fixed was made prior to me signing any documents. Only when I went to get the car fixed was I told that they would not fix it.

With over 42,000 vehicles sold in the past 10 years and 500,000 vehicles serviced at the Linconwood location ALONE, we must be doing something right? Personal attacks on Caroline Grossinger are uncalled for. She is a excellent business women who runs her stores with integrity, empathy, and PRIDE!

Don't take the advise or word of a hand full of ex-employee's/customer's (10 out of 550,000 is good odds?) tarnish the organizations reputation.

Grossinger Toyota strives to always.... "Do The Right Thing"

i worked for the grossinger family as did my wife for 14+ years. i can tell you i knew gary and caroline when they were in school.

like mr g. they are good hard working people who run a very good buisness. seems any exemployee who gets fired says "its there fault" look-stop looking to your employers with your hand out!!! maybe you need to work hard and do your job! i know from personell expiriance that this family is very generous when it comes to rewarding GOOD HARD WORKING EMPLOYEES!!!

they support there community and follow thier fathers example. i wish i still worked for them!!!
i respect caroline and gary so maybe someone should tell the GOOD side of these people.

As a former employee of Grossinger, with eight years in before my termination, I have witnessed customers being sold service that was not needed, as well as service writers being fired because thier numbers were low (sales). As a member of teamsters union local #731, I filed a grievance with teamsters local#731 six days after my unjust termination, with Thomas Friedwald our union rep on Aug 7,2006.For violation of contract Xlll Sec 3. unjust discharge.

A hearing was scheduled for Aug 24,2006 at 1:30 pm. Steve Parnow (Director of Fixed Operations) and Mike Givens (Service Director)were to attend to represent Grossinger Autoplex, and I Joseph W. was to be represented by Tom Friedwald and teamsters local#731 in my behalf. I arrived at 1:15 pm fifteen minutes early, I presented the certified letter that stated the date and time of the hearing that was sent to me. I was told by the receptionist, that the hearing was held at 9:00am! My wife and I drove all the way from Evanston,IL to Burr Ridge IL only to be told that the hearing was held four and a half hours earlier, without me! I couldn't believe it, all I could do was to sit down for a minute and ponder what had taken place this day.

After regaining my composure and heading to the elevators, I saw Thomas Friedwald coming out of the health and welfare offices, I walked over to Mr. Friedwald and asked whats going on?. I told Tom that the certified letter that was sent to me stated that the hearing date and time was to be Aug 7, 2006 at 1:30pm!. Tom's responce to me when I asked whats going on was, "We had some people here and decided to have the hearing at 9:00 am". I smell a rat!!.

I was sold out by the teamsters and unjustly fired by Steven Parnow. Grossinger treats its employees and customers like dirt! They also pay the porters to work on weekends cash so as not to pay overtime or taxes! Stay far away from this Company! I've filed a complaint with the E.E.O.C. When Erwin Grossinger passed away, Caroline an her henchmen took over the mass firings started of long time employees. The hostile work environment along with low customer service ratings have made this company a shell of what it used to be. Stay away from Grossinger and save yourselves the grief!

My name is Chris and I am a U.S. Veteran and have fought valiantly in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Although I do not currently work at Grossinger Autoplex or Grossinger Toyota, I would not be happy with myself without defending what I consider, an honorable business. Having upheld the Army Values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor and personal courage, I was hesistant to work for a car dealership. I have heard the horror stories before that a car salesman will sell something to their own mother to make money. Grossinger's family of autodealership changed my attitudes and beliefs.

Grossinger Autoplex happily hired me after I came out of the army and trained me on the importance of Customer Service. I greatly appreciate the opportunity that Grossinger Autoplex offered me because as a vet who had and still has absolutely no sales skills whatsoever, still had the patience to train me in the importance of Customer Service. Having worked for the Grossinger family for 3 years, I was broke with a enough satisfied customers to carry the Grossinger Family for another generation.

If you absolutely have to buy a Cadillac, Toyota, Chevrolet, or Volvo in the Chicagoland area, stop by Grossingers and tell them Boxo sent ya, they will treat you like a star.

My name is George Katsikas, I have been with the Grossinger Organization for over 15 years. Most of those years in an upper level management position. I would like to say a few words regarding the previously posted comments about our company on this website. I feel it is a great privilege to live in a country where freedom of speech is allowed. However, just because someone says something, does not necessarily mean it is the truth. Wouldn't the website be more valuable if they investigated, emailed or phoned all parties involved in the allegations? If there were truth behind a posting, then I believe they should post their name. Even positive words about a business should be investigated. What would stop me from going on this site every day and saying positive words about any business, when I may not have visited that place of business? Unfortunately, there are people in this world that do, say and write with malicious intent. I suggest, that before you form your own opinion about anyone or a place of business, stop in and see it for yourself. The fact that we are a family ran business, operating for almost a century, long standing in a community of over 40,000 customers and still growing, must stand for something on how we run our ship. I also wanted to give advise to people who are thinking of purchasing a vehicle from grossinger.



Lately they have been selling cars that have not been through their service dept. they then sell service contracts on these cars the problem is when the customer comes to bring the car in for repairs the warranty company will reject the repairs. I also know they have the most profitable finance dept in chicago. This means they are making as much money from the customer as possible. They do this by jacking up the interest rate and selling tire and wheel protection (that noone ever uses) and warrantys at huge markups.



On another note the Owner Caroline Grossinger is now advertising cars that dont even exist they choose cars (refered to as "clown cars" which are cheap late model vehicles with all sorts of problems and missing parts such as window motors etc. (also known within the organization as "switch vehicles".)



Oh and by the way she has now promoted one of the people in the biggest criminal familys in chicago to management at the autoplex (allegretti) I think this is because of some personal relationship between the owner Caroline and a personal relationship she had at one time with Jimmy A. who was known for well use your imagination.
