We purchased a New 2010 34 ft Gulf Stream Super Nova Motorhome in June 2010 from Paradise RV in Grande Prairie Alberta.  When you purchase a new Motorhome You expect to have warranty on the whole unit the day you drive away from the dealers lot!  When we got home to BC to our insurance office and handed in paperwork we found out then that the International Truck Chassis was a 2007 while the camper was 2010.  The unit was everything we were looking for.  We did have issues right away with shower leaking from under the shower surround, we payed for a unit with exterior shower and sound system, It did not have either, too late to install sound system, The rv dealer did install the exterior shower and gave solar panel for the sound stystem.  They told us they fixed leaking shower.....  That was first year!

The next season 2011 we had a cracked water tank near bottom so would not hold any water, we called RV dealer and did not have room for us to fix, wanted to order a new tank which would take most of summer to wait for, we took the motorhome to a big plastic water tank shop and after an hour later they did their magic and fixed the problem for about $50 dollars.  Thanks to them we could camp comfortably.  Then the big thing started, everytime it rained we had an alarm on our dash ABS and Break lights would go on!  an irritating alarm.  Husband pulled over and checked, everything seemed ok put into drive and alarm was cleared.  It happened a few more times, called Paradise Rv and they said it had nothing to do with them now it was International truck issue!! and here we go... We took it into Grande Prairie International to have inspection and oil change and have them check the alarm.  They changed oil and hooked up truck to computer and they said it showed no alarms for the Break system!  Hmmmm.

We had family issues last summer 2012 so only had one trip for 4 days with unit.  Shower still leaks, break alarm continued occasionally but would clear.   2013 We Just spent a week in the Okanagan in BC and spent our first night in the International Trucks lot waiting for them to open in the AM the break alarm would not turn off and we could not possibly travel home without that being fixed.  The mechanics in Kelowna, especially Alan were terrific.  But they checked our bus serial number, it came up as a 2007, and a recall on the system was issued in 2008.  Never had the recall work done as the truck was in Gulf Streams yard waiting in line for the camper assembly which was completed in 2010!!!

The warranty on truck chassis started in 2007 a 3 year warranty.... It was expired the year we purchased a NEW unit!!  How on earth does that work??? Nobody wants to talk to us, Paradise RV. International Trucks or Gulf Stream.  Now we are on hook to repair the break pump which they think is the fault.  We had it in International in 2011 why did they not see the recall in system then, I am assuming they did not check at all.  WE are not happy campers.  If we knew the whole unit was not on warranty we would not have spent our 180,000 on their product!  Where do we go from here, we have all the documentation.  And only have 31,000 kms on unit there was 2200 US miles on it when we signed papers, they said was driven to Red Deer Alberta from factory and then up to Grande Prairie.  Has anyone else had this happen to them ?

Gulf Stream RV Reviews

I am willing to bet that if you had a Law firm dig into to this. You might find that they bought an old aged  chassis that was left over From a previous model they no longer built.

Something sounds extremely fishy to me. I wouldn't be surprised if a class-action suit comes up against that company.

It seems to me something fishy might be going on regarding predelivery inspections. RV manufacturers pay the dealerships to do what's called a predelivery inspection to make sure everything works before they place it on the lot for sale.

Some dealerships like to submit the documentation as if they did a predelivery inspection and get paid but they never physically actually do the predelivery inspection and do a complete inspection On all aspects of the coach including the propane system.

Let me explain the Extreme importance of having a predelivery inspection done when it comes to the LP gas system. Let's say that you have a 20 gallon tank connected to your coach and you have 18 gallons of LP gas in the tank.

There is what is called expansion rate of LP gas. Given the fact of LP gas is extremely explosive everybody needs to understand this.

So let's do the numbers of expansion rate Of LP gas.  If you have one liquid gallon of LP gas in a take And it's released into the atmosphere or released inside the trailer because of a leak.  That one liquid gallon of LP gas inside the tank once released into the atmosphere or inside the trailer. That one liquid gallon expands to 270 gallons of explosive vapor.

So let's get back to the numbers if you have 18 gallons in a 20 gallon LP gas tank. The expansion rate of that 18 gallons of liquid propane Is equal to 4860 gallons of explosive vapor. That many gallons of explosive vapor is enough to knock your trailer over into the next block.

I am sure we all understand that having a water leak is a pain in the a*s Especially when it comes to a brand-new coach.  Having an LP gas system leak can be deadly. Did your RV dealer give or show you any documentation that shows that they DID DO A COMPLETE PDI ? I bet not, I hope I am wrong.

I am so surprised that I have not read anything regarding a class action suit regarding this company. Somebody in upper management at this company needs to re-evaluate the quality and craftsmanship of their products.

I personally help law firms when customers have troubles with auto dealers and auto manufacturers it looks like I'm going to have to dig into the RV industry..

I too have had an experience with Gulf stream the Rip Off File #1155324, we did this video and are now planning to take legal action as certified letters, calls to the company to resolve are discounted and we want our money back on this unit.

Would love to get all the people on Rip off together and file a Class action suit.

It seems they discount all individuals who take action, perhaps a larger voice, can capture the respect we as buyers deserve from our experience and investment!  See our video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uc_YDHL54ng

Who is ready to stand together as a larger group?

thank YOU!
