WORKERS' RIGHTS ABUSES!

Stay far away if you are considering working for the Hagadone Corporation.

I was an hourly employee, but the only writer on a newspaper. I pretended not to work overtime and my publisher, David Keyes, pretended he didn't know this. Thus I got to keep my job.

I was forced to work several weeks carrying the newspaper by myself while my editors were on vacation. This includes all newspaper production related tasks, including interviewing, writing, editing, photography, public relations with city leaders, etc. I got about 3 hours of sleep each night those several weeks.

Afterward, David Keyes rewarded me with a 30 cent raise.

The publisher, David Keyes, tolerated workplace bullying.

The God of Money is all important to the publisher and Duane Hagadone, and they don't care how they dishonestly earn it.

The publisher also asked my editor at one point to steal information from the Spokesman Review - all in the name of saving a few dollars by subscribing to an online information database.

This company will use every drop of sweat out of you, mistreat you, not pay you for overtime, and bully you. STAY FAR AWAY, even if you are desperate for work.

It is known as the "North Idaho Slave Network" for a reason.
