To whom it may concern,
Buying a car should be a happy time. I think not. So I visited the Haselwood or Id like to say Hasslewood, car dealer ship Saturday the 20th of Feb. I looked at a few cars and then settled on one. A Saturn vue 2006 40,000 miles I thought this was perfect. Me and my mother started with the paper work. I couldnt qualify for a loan so my mom pulled one out for me. The car sales man said that the inside of the vehicle was dirty because it just came in. It had only been on the lot a couple of days and that they would keep it till Monday and make sure it goes through the inspection and make sure its detailed. Monday night rolls around and my mother picked up the car on her way from work around 5:30pm. We only had the car for 30 mins and had to bring it back because the passenger air bag was flashing saying that it was off. Also the car was filthy . they had vacuumed the car but that was about it. There was stains all over the seats. We took the car back to the dealers at 6:15pm. The sales man said yeah the light should go off when someone sits in the seat we will have to take a look at that tomorrow. I brought up again about how dirty the car was. And the smell. He said that was normal thats the chemicals they put on the seats and floor to get the stains out. I replyied saying it smelt like a wet dog. He assured me that it will go through the cleaners again. The next day which is Tuesday a manager had called my mom at work. I had also called from work to find out what was going on. They said that the air bag sensor in the seat has gone out and that they would repair it. This was something that should have been fixed before I got the car in the first place He said the part was on back order and that it would take all the way till Thursday to be fixed. He also reassured that the car was getting cleaned another time. He gave an excuse as well when you shampoo carpets, sometimes all the odors come up and if you dont let it air out the smell stays in the car. He did say it will go through another time though that it would be in the cleaners why they are waiting for the part He offered us a rental car for all the trouble. Thursday comes around I had called the car place on a lunch break around 2 oclock to see how things were going. The man I talked to said that the car was finished that the heater is fixed in the seat. I said umm nope not my car my car needs a replacement air bag censor. He was like oh oh oh I see the second code that came up. We just got the part in it should be fixed today. A few hours later they had called my mom at work saying the car is ready for pick up. After work We both drove there to pick up the car. As soon as I open the door I could smell that awful smell. I told my mom its still filthy. There was a spoon in the back seat for crying out loud, I looked around the gear shifter and there was food inside the shifter in places there were orange soda stain on the carpet not to mention this dark black stain on the seats. We went and talked to the sales associate again the one who sold us the car. I said this car still smells if all the cars that come out of your detail place smell like this no one would get their car detailed here. I showed him the food. He said. Lets talk to a manager. We talked to another manager in person this time. He said we can get the car in for detail right in the morning. He had talked to the detail center they said that they tried to get the stains out and it wouldnt come out. The manager said Take the car home bring it back tomorrow at noon. I took the car home. Right when I got home I got a paper towel some dish soap and damped the paper towel. I rubbed the seat in one spot, and the seat came clean. The paper towel was black it was disgusting. I called the place right away I said listen if they are telling you they are using machines to clean these seats they are lying cause I just used a paper towel and got the seat clean. He said okay.. we will discuss this tomorrow with the cleaners. The next morning I had a doctors appt for my daughter. I could hear something radeling in the back when I got to the droctors office I looked and a piece of the framing that sits around the window was almost off Later that day around 11am I brought the car to the dealers. I showed the man the piece of framing it was just wiggling out of place. He road with me up the block to the cleaners, where he was talking to the tech about cleaning the seats. He said she used a paper towel and got it clean. The comment kept on getting from everyone was sometimes they just dont use elbow grease to get a stain out they have so many cars that they just dont have time for it. My comment is how much elbow grease can you use with a paper towel. The sales man left me at the cleaners and came back about 20 mins later to tell me that the part off the back window was completely broken. He showed me the part. He said Im going to go order the part I looked at him and said I want to go home. Im done. He said what do you mean youre done. I said I was done when I picked up the car last night and it was still stained Im done I was done when I had to bring the car back in here on Monday and I am done now I want to go home. He said okay let me get a car Ill take you home. He borrowed a car and took me and my daughter home. My mom had called me when I was home and said she talked to the manager down there and he said well the car is done she was like I want all the reports on the vehicle saying it went through the inspection, he said okay its done its ready for pick up. A bout and hour later he called my mom back and said I have to keep the car over the weekend.. apparently it never went through inspection, and the air bag was never fixed. My mom is freaking at this time that they let me take this car off their lot with a broken air bag. He said please let me fix the car my mom is saying that she doesnt even feel safe letting her daughter and granddaughter in this car no more. He said please let me fix it Ill put you in another rental car. He said he was personally going to go over the car and make sure the car is fixed and it will be the safest car on the road Here I am now Monday I have had 3 people calling me leaving me messages letting me know that they found out what was wrong with the car that the sensor was out. I have known that the sensor was out for a week now.. why are they just saying they are just finding this out again. Today is Tuesday and guess what, still no car.. apparently they fixed the part but the car was not cleaned so they said they didnt want to hand the car over to me or my mother yet because they want to make sure that it goes through a cleaning AGAIN! They also let me know that the outside of the car has not been cleaned. And on top of that the manager that said that he was personally gonna make sure that everything is done is on vacation. Lets keep in mind they cashed my down payment check of 750$ on the 23rd which is a Tuesday I purchased the car on Saturday the 20th, and I still dont have my car and its the 2nd of march for crying out loud.
Saturday February 20th Purchased car
Monday February 22nd, Loan went through early morning at bank.
Monday February 22nd, picked up car around 5:30Pm
Monday February 22nd, dropped car back at dealers around 6:15pm
Tuesday February 23rd, down payment check cleared through my bank
Thursday February 25th, Picked up car 6pm
Friday February 26th, dropped car off around 11am
March 1st, they called and said it was ready then called back and said its not ready
Tuesday March 2nd, still no car
