Heartland Express , makes you sit in truck stops for 2 or 3 days sometimes more offers you layover pay that you don't get because they assigned you a load in advance ,but you still have to sit a few days.
There night dispatchers yell at you like your stupid and they don't treat you with any respect.
You are told to do free local deliveries and if you complain about it you may sit even longer, if you don't count the empty trailers that someone else has done at least 5 times before you they punish you and make you sit even longer, they will cover this all up but they have a bad turn over rate and are always hiring drivers because we all quit or they find a dumb reason to fire us.
I can come up with more but I thought I would just whine about this for now because now I can't find a job and am wondering if they have something to do with it.

Have been for heartland express for about 2 years. This company was good till the last few months. I have been doing more sitting than driving. Only reason I can think of why it went to s**t is because I told got shitty with night dispatch because they are useless. Every time I ask a question or anything they never have a clue about what the hells going on. That and I refused to shuttle 4 empty trailers without any pay for doing it.Ever since then my miles have went to s**t. The key to quiting is have a job already lined up. That way when they put negative false reports on ur dac report it doesnt matter because u already have another job. That will give u time to get the false reports removed.
