My husband and I have been looking for a therapist for our 16 year old son who has been going through a very difficult time in school, I was looking at going to a therapist in our neighbourhood named Helen Dunn, but then I happen to have a brief email conversation with her estranged husband Sean and it was disturbing, the things he told me:
- She has been investigated by the Ministry of Children and Families for frequent drinking in front of their young children
- Heavy drinker
- Had an affair
Obviously I am mostly concerned about the government investigation, especially because she advertises herself as offering therapy to adolescents I think that it is something that potential clients need to know before they pay her $100 an hour to provide therapy for their children.

In researching any product or individual, I would be hard pressed to take to heart any comments that came from an ex-spouse during a "brief email conversation". This would seem like a biased view at the least, and possible slander or sabatoge at the most. Basing a decision on these comments comes across as ignorant and uneducated.

Helen Dunn is an excellent therapist, researcher, and mother, and I would trust her with my own children above anyone else. I have seen firsthand the transformations she has facilitated in her practice, and would recommend her as a therapist to anyone, no matter what age (and I have, with very positive feedback).
The negative, slanderous comments "Sean" said about Helen are merely a spiteful attempt at sabotaging her career in the hopes of seeking vengeance for her much-deserved awarded custody of their children.
Please be skeptical of this report of Helen Dunn Counselling. Given the amount of incompetent therapists out there, it would be a shame to ignore one of the competent ones as a result of misinformed hearsay.
