Randy Haveson's reputation

AUTHOR: thunderheart cody - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 04, 2012

I had a run in with this individual( Randy Haveson ) and my experience with him was not pleasant. He wants to appear receptive but underneath it all, you know the guy is a narcissist. I read his comments on this great website and he claims to be the victim of some random angry person who wants to do him harm. Realistically if he knew anything about human behavior or actually read the book of AA( he claims to be in recovery), he would eventually conclude as the book says " whenever someone took a shot at us, if we take the time to remember and examine the situation, we will realize that at some point in the past we stepped on their toes and they retaliated ". This is basic human behavior. Randy Haveson needs to let go of this fantasy that he will become rich just by talking and appearing knowledgeable and should find a real job.

Randy Haveson is full of himself

AUTHOR: radiobemba1956 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 08, 2011

Randy Haveson wants to discredit comments by consumers who have found out how much of a fraud he really is. If anyone did a search of his name on google you could only find websites entitled " Randy Speaks " because that's all he really does, Speak. Ya  yap yap yap until one is deaf or so annoyed you are ready to pay him to go away. I challenge him to develop a website called " Randy Listens ".  yeah right !  that'll be the day.

Please notice that both comments written on this day are from the same person, but once as a consumer and once as an ex-employee. I know who wrote these and this person is not a client or someone who worked for me. I'm more than happy to share details with anyone wants to know about this person and their relationship with our program. As you can see, it is a person filled with anger who just wants to hurt me and our program.

Randy Haveson's Narcissism

AUTHOR: radiobemba1956 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 01, 2011

Randy suffers from " little Napoleon" complex and is constantly trying to justify his failures by blaming others. The worse mistake anyone could make is to let him talk. If you engage him, he will rant and rave about how insightful he is and how trained and educated he is and after a few hours of him talking, most people are ready to pay him so that he shots the hell up. He makes claims that are far fetched and when things go bad, it is always the client's or the families's fault. He uses other people's homes to house his clients and he piggy backs on others all the time so that he maximizes profit and minimizes expense.
He is another exploiting scum who only wants to build up his ego and fatten his wallet at your expense.

Randy Haveson's Narcissism

AUTHOR: radiobemba1956 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, December 01, 2011

Randy Haveson wants to blame his faults on the clients he claims to want to help. It is obvious to many of us who know about his background that after spending his parent's money on a self glorifying venture, when he gets crticism,  he wants to blame the most defenseless of all, his customers. One thing you are never supposed to do as a professional is blame your consumers when you screw up. Is not good for business and many people expect this from him. It only serves as proof that the only agenda he has in mind is what they call in recovery " money, property and prestige ". I would not send my poodle to this guy's program. He is too full of himself and the clones he has working for him are turning out the same.

POSTED: Tuesday, November 22, 2011

The person who wrote this is a past client that I dismissed from the program because of negative and verbally abusive behavior. Rather than accept more money from his family, I decided to ask him to leave. I am more than happy to discuss this in more detail with anyone who has concerns about me or the program.

Randy is Full of Integrity

AUTHOR: Heidi Trow - (Virgin Islands (US))

POSTED: Saturday, November 19, 2011

I have been working for Randy for a long time and have witnessed his integrity first hand. If a student is not following rules, is not serious about their recovery and is creating a negative impact on the community they are asked to leave the program to maintain the integrity of the program. Randy would rather have one or two clients who are serious about their recovery than a house full of students who are not serious - even if it means making zero or less than zero profit for the company - which I have seen since I've worked there. He'd rather not make any money at all than keep students who need a higher level of treatment because keeping them would do a disservice to the community and to the client who needs more serious care. When such students are asked to leave they tend to act out in various ways, such as writing several ripoff reports under different aliases.

Hero House Director a Real Hero

AUTHOR: pjmcc - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, October 13, 2011

Wow! I was really shocked, and then saddened, to read some of the comments written by some of these folks about Randy. Shocked, because he is one of those unique individuals who honestly, truly sees the very best in people. He wants people to succeed in their livesnot the knee-jerk reaction kind of successes that first come to mind (good jobs, wealth, prestige, etc.), but the really important successes the joy of family, a sense of community and belonging, the love of friends and significant othersand an honest and deep contentment that comes from a life well lived having loved and been loved by others. I was saddened, because he probably has the biggest heart of any one Ive ever knownand Ive known him for over 25 years. He has a gift for believing in others who have oftentimes given up on themselves. He teaches them to trust and recognize the beauty in themselves as well as in the world around them. He believes in people, the triumph of the human spirit, the power of healing, and the magic of life found not only in the most profound revelations,
but discovered in the very smallest of lifes many miracles. He trusts, he believes, he hopes for the bestand is always there to catch you should you stumble along the way. It sounds as if these people are stumblingand I knoweven after what they have said about himthat he would be the first to comfort them, support them, and ask to help shoulder the burden as they work through their present difficultiesand it seems they carry a very heavy burden, indeed.

SAY NO TO HERO HOUSE

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, January 06, 2011

Be aware, Hero house is a scam! This ego-maniac Randy Havesonwill tell you whatever he thinks you want to hear in order to clean your pockets. I can contest to every thing that has been said here. Hero house is one of the most expensive sober livings in existance and for no good reason. He hasa showcase house in Costa Mesa, California, that has nothing to offer except its glamorous appearance. If you are a parent looking for a sober living for your son or daughter,LOOK ELSEWHERE!

STAY AWAY!

yap yap yap from Randy Haveson and Company

AUTHOR: Kennymac - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 06, 2010

These guys will say anythiing to keep those $ 3,000.00 coming every month. Randy is a big talker full of hot air who would sell ice cubes to eskimos if he wanted to. The problem with this person is that he appears to have a serious personality disorder. Randy appears pleasant at times but he lacks real compassion for anyone and is driven only by greed and the love for power over people. Randy Haveson is in my view a narcissist who should stay away from people. He really has no interest on anyone but himself.  Pity the fool who gives him money.

The HERO House, A Recovery Residence for College Students in early sobriety

AUTHOR: HERO House - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, May 06, 2010

I am writing in response to a posting on this website. I am the Director for the Atlanta Campus of The HERO House. My credentials include two masters degrees and 16 years of experience working in higher education before joining the HERO House nearly two years ago.

Selecting a recovery residence is a difficult decision, and the truth is there is a range of what services are provided and not every recovery residence is the right fit. Make sure you have a list of questions, and ask for references you can speak with. Working with young adults is also challenging addicts are master manipulators, they struggle with the change they are experiencing, and unfortunately, many do not succeed. T

he HERO House is a recovery residence for college students in early sobriety. We serve men and women in separate residences, based upon the Therapeutic Community Model, grounded in the 12-Step process. The HERO House is a community of students in recovery, sharing life experiences and helping each other achieve long term, quality sobriety and a manner of living that will make them outstanding contributors to our society.

Additionally, at the Higher Education Recovery Option, we work with students to return to school and to find the tools necessary to be successful while sober, on a college campus. We tell residents at intake that our program is typically a one-year program; however, we recognize some residents will finish early and some will need additional time. To successfully complete our program, residents need to complete a 12-Step Program, successfully complete one full-time semester of college, and to advance through all four of our levels of competency at The HERO House.

What is a sober living facility? That's a question that is asked more times than you will ever know. A sober living halfway house is a structured living environment or home that offers a set of rules that encourage the growth and recovery of addicts and alcoholics. The rules include curfews, housekeeping duties, regular drug and alcohol testing, necessity to engage in a 12 step program by gaining a sponsor, getting phone numbers at meetings and calling them, regular attendance of meetings, and most importantly the commitment and follow through to not use drugs or alcohol.

Even after undergoing alcohol or drug treatment, the sad truth is that many dependent individuals relapse shortly thereafter. Common relapse rates vary by chemical substance, with some forms of chemical dependency proving more difficult to treat by the majority of recovery programs. In fact, a 1998 study by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) found that common relapse rates were incredibly high, though they varied significantly by the chemical of choice.

Drug addiction recovery rates make for depressing reading. In general, addiction recovery rates are very low, though these statistics depend on the drug itself, some being harder to escape than others. As a matter of course, institutions such as the National Institute on Drug Abuse and Addiction hold that several methods of treatment, such as medication as well as outpatient cognitive therapy, must be used at the same time in order to maximize the chances of recovery.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration, recovery from addition is defined as not returning to dependence for five years after one has completed a rehabilitation program of some kind. In 1998, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration funded a study about rates of recovery for different drugs. The two drugs where relapse rates were extremely high were alcohol and heroin--86 percent and over 90 percent respectively. Cocaine has a relapse rate of 55 percent, while crack (a form of cocaine) has a much higher relapse rate of 84 percent. The highest rates of recovery are to be found among inhalants and hallucinogens, where only about 40 percent will relapse within the five year frame. For all narcotics taken together, including legal pain pills that are abused, the relapse rate is 69 percent.

Supportive living in a structured environment such as a sober living halfway house has proven in many cases to be the element that enables individuals to embrace the process of recovery. By choosing a transitional living facility that encompasses a staff, safety, knowledge and experience - you are sure to gain a firm footing in recovery from drugs and alcohol as well as other addictions such as gambling, pornography, shopping and eating disorders. Men and women that are faced with addiction and alcoholism usually are very intelligent and talented individuals that are able to gain good employment, raise families and produce great lives for themselves outside of drugs and alcohol. However, when an addict or alcoholic immediately returns to common people, places and things that they are used to - relapse becomes inevitable in most cases.

Treatment has been drastically shortened due to the financial bearing that is incurred. Statistics and science have proven that long-term care offers a greater chance for success in recovery. With the economic constraints, a lower level of care is often times the next best option. These sober living halfway houses offer a low cost option to continue on in a structured environment and/or community.
