Dr Herrara, DDS Charges $25 per month late fee. I only owed originally $20 - Now owe over $400!! outlandish ripoff late fees Bakersfield California .....

I was notified my a collection agency that I owed over $400 to a dentist I had only seen once for an exam and 2 x-rays. My insurance was supposed to pay, however, I did owe $20 co-pay. Unfortunately , I moved (twice) and never received the bill. Now today, 17 months later!!! I was notified that I owed this money.

I called the dentis office and the manager stated that I was charged $25 a month late fee on this $20 that I originally owed. She was willing to settle with me if I paid $225!!!!

HELP - What should I do? Is there any way to fight this.
I live in Florida and this dentist is in California
