Hh Gregg Stores Poor Customer Service Indianapolis Indiana

On 1/31/08 I called to schedule a service appointment as our Toshiba television had completely quit working. Since Superbowl was to be on that Sunday I investigated all options of seeing if they could get someone to service it quickly. I was told that the very first day they could be there would be on Tuesday 2/5/08. I inquired as to whether this was a confirmed appointment as I have to hire someone to be at my home to let them in. I not only spoke with the G.E. Service Contracts people, but also Topps Electronics. They assured me that I would be contacted on Tuesday the 5th between 7:00-9:00 am to tell me when they would arrive.

I received a phone call a little after 9:00am from TOPPS Electronics only to be told that "sorry abour your luck" but we cannot be there today. We will come tomorrow. They informed me that the GE Service people had "overscheduled" the service people. I then called GE and of course they told me that it was TOPPS fault as they are the ones who schedule their techs. I then called hh gregg to inquire as to the situation and was told that "it just is the way it is".

I then called the Corporate Office just wanting to lodge a complaint. I was on hold for 15 minutes, transfered to the GE Service group and had to actually call back a second time because GE "did not" have a phone # for hh gregg Corporate offices.(which I find strange) Regardless, I called back and was transfered 3 different times before I was finally connected with a VERY NASTY young witch who informed me that it was not hh greggs problem. I informed her that it was hh gregg who took the money from me and from whom I purchased the television.

At the end of the day hh gregg's reputation was being negatively affected by their affilliation with TOPPS electronics. She was quite quick to tell me that hh gregg was not concerned about it and that it was not anything that hh gregg could do anything about. Well, there is something I can do about it. I will tell everyone I know that is or will be looking to purchase appliances about my miserable experience with these people. I now will be paying the person I had scheduled to be at my home for not only today, but also for tomorrow. But as the NASTY WITCH (who is such a good representation for hh gregg) said "IT'S NOT THEIR PROBLEM".

I will be writing the CEO (Jerry Throgmartin) and the President (Dennis May) to make sure that they are aware of the reputation that hh gregg is getting in the market place. For anyone else who would like to write them , the address is: hh gregg, 4151 E. 96th St., Indianapolis, IN 46240.
