We purchased four new appliances from the HH Gregg location in Cincinnati, Ohio. We had just completed a kitchen renovation with a new maple hardwood floor. We purchased a sheet of masonite hardboard to protect the floor especially from the heavy weight of the refrigerator. The delivery people refused to use the masonite. In short, three of the four appliances arrived damaged and had to be replaced, and while they were trying to manuver the refrigerator they put two huge gouges in the new floor. They ended up just leaving it sit in the middle of the floor where we could not even close the door. This was caused by them rolling the refrigerator on the concrete driveway and damaging the castors. Their arrogance and refusal to use the piece of masonite led to $2700.00 damage to the floor. It turns out that HH Gregg subs out all delivery to a company called 3PD. 3PD came to the house took 20 plus pictures and was very apologetic. They were in contact with the flooring company the next day and authorized repairs. The repairs were completed and new appliances delivered. This crew used the Masonite and everything went smoothly.
Here is the kicker. Now they won't pay the bill to the flooring company, saying that they turned it over to insurance. Their insurance is Van Liner Company who doesn't return calls. We turned it over to the Indy Better Business Bureau who contacted HH Gregg who is now denying the whole thing.
Really don't know where to turn. Lawyers will not take the case because of the amount of money involved. Guess I will try small claims court myself. Although the flooring company authorization was from 3PD they now want their money from me.
Any help or comments would surely be appreciated. Do not buy from HH Gregg, check our their number of complaints with the BBB and unacceptable rating. I wish I had been a little more diligent before I bought. Again, do not deal with HH Gregg!!!!!
Thanks for any help!!!

HH Gregg, 3PD Delivery damages new flooring Cincinnati, Ohio

By writing a good many letters I was finally contacted by the Vice President of HH Gregg. He did his own investigation into my case and said he was deeply disturbed how it was handled by the employees of 3PD and how they attempted to cover it up. He has agreed that HH Gregg will pay the bill for the flooring damage and was apologetic for all the trouble that we had been put thru by the 3PD delivery company. Hopefully this issue is over, he promised payment to the flooring company within one week. If you do purchase from HH Gregg be sure and ask if they are using 3PD for delivery and beware of their bad reputation and lack of caring for the product you bought or your home.
