This all takes place in 2004.

March 16 - My Samsung TV I bought on 1/4/04 stopped working. We called but their customer service was close.

March 17 - I called customer service and the repair man was scheduled to come out on 3/19 to look at the TV.

March 19 - The repair man came out. Looked at the TV for about 45 minutes and said he could not fix it. He said I could either have him order a part that we might need and then schedule to come back out to install the part knowing it may not work. Then the would have to take it in to the shop. Or he could just schedule to have the TV picked up and looked at more closely at the shop. Plus they would bring out a loaner until the TV is repaired. I took option 2. He then said the TV would be picked up on Monday. He left with the power cord for the TV!

March 22 - I did not get a call regarding picking up my TV so I called customer service again. They said that the paper work was not in yet but as soon as it was we would be scheduled for a pick up. 5:00pm - no call. I call again. They just received the paperwork. And we could not be scheduled for Tuesday since the paperwork had to be in by 2pm. So we would be scheduled for Wednesday and would get a call between 6a and 8a for a pick up.

March 24 - No call from HH Gregg. I call customer service and they said the there was no service order for my TV to be picked up. I spoke to the Service Manager and he said he would make sure someone would pick up the TV that day. He also said the TV would be put on priority to have it looked at as soon as it came to the shop. The TV was picked up and a loaner dropped off. I very poor loaner at that. The feed for the DVD player did not work so we can't watch movies.

March 25 - Had not heard from HH Gregg regarding the status of my TV so I called my customer service manager to find out that the technitian had not even looked at the TV and would not until Monday.

March 30 - Still no word from HH Gregg. I called and the customer service manager said he would call me back after talking to the tech. I received a voicemail later that night saying a part was on order and was trying to be pushed through but would not arrive until April 20. (This is the first call back I actually got from the company.)

April 1 - My husband calls HH Gregg to find out what the deal is. The CS rep says that the part is being expedited.

April 5 - I called for status and the CS rep says that they just ordered a part. I ask to speak to the manager. He says that they had to order another part along with the first one ordered last week. But I would have my TV back at home within the week guaranteed.

April 15 - Again no info from HH Gregg so I call. The CS rep tells me that the part has arrived and will be on the tech's bench this afternoon and they usually require a 48 hour check but my TV should come no later than Monday or Tuesday.

April 20 - So I call again. Find out the part that was supposed to be on the tech's bench on Thursday was not received until Saturday afternoon and the tech had not even looked at the TV or part. So I get to talk to the tech manager. She said she did not know who made all of these date promises but she would make sure the tech got to this right away.

April 21 - The tech manger called me to say the part did not work and they called Samsung to find out what else they could do. Would call again tomorrow.

April 22 - The tech manager called again. According to the tech manager none of the things Samsung suggested worked so they were calling again to see if Samsung would replace the TV.

April 26 - I called and was transferred to the tech manager. Samsung would not replace the TV and was sending out two other parts to try. Supposed to arrive today but probably tomorrow and worked on Wednesday.

So I have been without my TV that was only 2.5 months old for over a month. I can't watch videos since it can't plug into the loaner. I watch DVDs in black and white.

I have been given the run around by HH Gregg for over a month now. The system is horrible.

I, TOO, have been ripped off by HH Gregg!!!

AUTHOR: Heather - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 24, 2004

I know what you are going through. My problem with them has been going on since June 2002. I was 8 months pregnant when my 1 year old washer bought from HHGregg went on the fritz! I called their customer service company and got an appointment for the next week for them to come out and fix it.

By the way, we have four kids, so you can imagine how fast the laundry piles up around our house.

The guy never showed up. I called again, they scheduled him for the next day.

He showed up finally. He claimed that it needed over $250 of repairs and since it was about a month over my experation of the warranty I would have to pay for it myself. I was very confused and told him I wanted a second opinion. He then went back and about an hour later said that he got it working just fine, it was just a small problem of clogging somewhere and charged me the $89.00 fee and was on his way.

Later that day, my washer overflowed causing almost $3,000 in water damage to the entire lower level of our home. I called HHGregg and they sent out a different tech. They also told me to file a claim with my homeowners insurance. I explained to them that I was not paying for the extraction (Luckily I worked for a flood damage contractor and have connections, anyone else would have charged $5000-8000 to dry out this house)

The turned in a claim to their insurance company. They passed it on to THEIR insurance company...

I have called a thousand people... I have written a thousand letters... and still, they have no paid me for the damage caused to my home and furniture.

They are a bunch of low lifes... I will NEVER purchase any more appliances from them. The sad fact is... I have spent more than $20,000 a year with them for the last 9 years with the contractor I work with. No more. All that loss just because they didn't want to pay for a water damage that they caused.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU :) I have given up... as I'm sure they wanted.
