I contacted this breeder in hopes of purchasing a Newfoundland puppy from her.  Found a female we wanted and explained to the breeder I did not want a certain kennel name and explained my issue with my other Newfoundland.  I did not and do not want to have the same issue.  Yes it is true it may never be an issue, but just be cautious.  SO also asked for unlimitrd pedigree as we might want to breed her down the road and had to pay more for that.

So I got the puppy and paperwork.  It has the name of the kennel I did not want.  Puppy was extremely thin, coughing, bloddy diarrhea and very rough coat.  was not fit for sale.

At 14wks the puppy weighed 15.7lbs and per standard for the breed should be between 40-60lbs.  When I question the breeder on the size her reply was hers run small and weigh 30lbs.  Well 15 is a lot smaller and different than 30lbs.

So vet suggested labs to be done and they came back that red cell and protein levels were bad and that she is is early signs of kidney disease.

Breeder nor transporter wanted to accept responsibilty on the condition of the pup.

Buyer beware.

I do have all documentation and notes and messages in the case anyone wants to see them. I have nothing to hid and was upfront with what I wanted.  Breeder was unethical and hid information.

it has been brought to my attention that the report posted previously was actually incorrect to the owner. This has been filed to be removed as it was second hand information and was meant to a different dog breeder. This has been submitted to be removed on 10/19 Apologize for the inconvenience.

This breeder is running nothing more than a puppy mill. She has over 65 dogs that she bought in bulk and was not able to sell. These dogs are very unhealthy. She has kennels placed in muddy slopes through her yard that are not clean. The dogs are very skinny and aggressive. They don't get any attention and turn on eachother for food. She says that you can pick your puppy at her house. Her house smells like animcal feces and smoke. There is animal feces all over her yard and house. It's terrible. She allows these dogs to give birth in her house which is normal. Nothing is ever cleaned and she just lets all the after birth and dog waste sit in the floor. Once the puppies are born, they are placed in a pin in all their own waste. Most of them are unhealthy and end up dying. I hope people stop buying unhealthy dogs from her. Her puppy mill needs to be shut down. ASAP. That is all.

A lot of what you wrote is incorrect!  You did receive the vet notes and lab work!  Her cough did not go away and she still had the cough the day she left.  When she stopped coughing it was because she received cough syrup as prescribed by the vet.  As for the Sierra View kennel, I stated I DID NOT want anything that had that kennel in it.  Which should have never been an issue as they never gave breeding rights to anyone so if this dog on the pedigree is being bred it has a false AKC pedigree?

I am not going to keep this going as it is a waste of my time, but do research and know what a New pup should be at certain ages/stages and breed accordingly.

When labs are done and 2 vets are concerned with the SDMA(Kidney) funtions and the fact red cells and protien levels are off I was not comfortable taking that chance.  I had this naging feeling that after speaking to the breeder several times then she refused to help pay the vet costs there was this feeling that she would n ot uphold the 2yr health guarantee.  So therefor the puppy went back as I no longer trusted this breeder.  I could not knowingly breed this puppy down the road knowibng what the condition of her health is and size.  She does not meet standards

Puppy was found to be healthy-Purchase price was refunded

On 6-22-16 I talked to Sandy Storrie over the phone regarding purchasing one of my puppies. I was informed then that she had a dog from Sierra View Newfoundlands that has a kidney problem. I was asked if I knew Sierra View, which I do not. I asked for infomation regarding her dog's history such as parent names, but I never recieved them. The Newfoundland Dog Database  is a valuable resource where anyone can look up a pedigree of a Newfoundland just by typing in a name. Ms. Storrie's dog with the kidney issues is Sierra Views Sweet Finn Zuri Nyteri.  After researching the database I determined that my dog,  Meadowviews Gold of Northstar is in no way related to her Sierra View dog with a kidney issue. There is a Sierra View dog in my dog's pedigree, but it is not related at all to her dog based on pedigree research.

On 7-23-16 Ms. Storrie did purchase a brown and white female newfoundland puppy from me. I informed her then that a brown & white newfoundland could not be shown but I had a landseer that could. Ms. Storrie stated that did not matter to her. On 7-23-16 the parents' AKC registered names, AKC numbers and Penn-hip reports were sent to Ms. Storrie via text. I have proof  the text was delivered. All  parent information of the purchased puppy was sent PRIOR to the shipment of the puppy. On 7-25-16 at 9pm the ground shipper picked the puppy up. They took a picture of the puppy at pickup. The delivery was supposed to take 3 days but it did take 5 days due to unforseen circumstances  beyond my control. Ms. Storrie and her wife met the ground shipper on 7-30-16 approximately 1hr away from their house because the shipper's vehicle broke down. The ground shipper took a picture of the puppy with them holding her when she was delivered. All the puppy's paperwork including pedigrees were in her folder the day they picked her up.

On 7-31-16  I was  informed that the puppy had loose stool, was thin and had a cough. I told her take her to the vet and let me know. The puppy had a blood panel and a stool test done. The stool test came back negative . The puppy was given no antibiotics. Due to a long travel situation the puppy apparently was stressed , which is common in puppies, and then a new home situation was another big change for the puppy. I was also informed that the puppy was quite a talker which could account for the cough as she settled, the cough went away. I was informed that 3/4 of the bag of her food I sent was full, indicating that she ate very little during transport. The puppy likely lost weight while in transport beacuse of stress. After the puppy was out of transport she steadly gained almost 2lbs a day.  While perhaps somewhat thin due to transport, NO Newfoundland puppy should weigh 40-60 pounds at 14 weeks as was stated in this report. Ms. Storrie and her wife were going back and forth regarding  keeping the puppy because her creatine and SDMA levels were high and she stated  the vet indicated it could possibly mean early signs of kidney disease. The protein levels and almost everything were off on the bloodwork. The protein level being low possibly indicated the puppy has not been eating as it should have. At that point they were going to keep the puppy as their own vet stated that they believed the puppy would come out of it. I told them to repeat the bloodwork in 2wks if they were going to keep her and send me the vet bill. If they chose to keep her I offered a $500 refund and the puppy would still be covered under my 2yr health guarantee. They decided they did not want to keep her and wanted their money back.

From the very beginning I offered them a full refund if they were not happy with her.  They just needed to return her. I did refund their $2500 purchase price for the puppy on 8-9-16. I have a signed paper stating they were refunded in full.  Ms. Storrie did have to pay the shipper the $350 transport to ship her back. The shipper is a 3rd party company that I have no control of.  To return a puppy I require a defitive diagnosis, which they did not produce, but I refunded their purchase price anyway.  Once the puppy was picked up, on 8-10 & 8-11-16 it was taken to a vet to be weighed and  then to be re-examined and have bloodwork done. This was an independent veterinarian not associated with my kennel.  The vet said she was a very healthy puppy and her bloodwork came back as it should have for a puppy. They also agreed that the puppy got stressed in transport which is not uncommon. The puppy has also been re-examined again on 9-6-16 to ensure she is a healthy puppy and received a clean bill of health a second time.

In conclusion, I can provide proof of all communication, parent information  that was sent up front, vet examinations, pictures of the puppy just before  it left and when they picked the puppy up.  I can show proof that I also refunded the full $2500 purchase price for the puppy. I stand behind my puppies and they come with a written health guarantee.  Breeding is not an exact science so I do appropriate certifications to ensure I have healthy Newfoundlands. All prospective families are welcome to come pick up their puppy at my home.
